La mattina a Dolcedo
Nell'entroterra di Imperia
c'è un posto fatato dove grazie a quest'acqua,
dal mulino nascevano preziose farine...

Canon EOS 250D | 27mm | 1/80s | f/8 | ISO 200 Taken on 24/07/2021. Dolcedo is a medieval village in the lower valley of the Prino stream, about 15 minutes away from the Ligurian coast. Here's a photo I took from a bridge that marks the entrance to Dolcedo from Imperia. It's a picture postcard village that attracts a fair number of tourists during the summer months, though not nearly as many as those who prefer sizzling in the sun by the beach. It's worth exploring Dolcedo's eight tiny 'borgate' (hamlets) if you get the chance, such as the one perched on a gentle hill behind the river. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: Catch a bus from Oneglia or Porto Maurizio to Dolcedo (line 24) with 'Riviera Trasporti', Monday to Saturday. ______________________________________ #Dolcedo #Italia #Italy #BorghiItaliani #BorghidItalia #ItalianVillage #Kings_Villages #Alluring_Italy #Ig_Savona_Imperia #Ig_Liguria #IgersLiguria #BestInTravel #BeautifulPlaces #MadeInItaly #Italy_Hidden_Gems #ItaliaMiPiaci #TurismoInLiguria #Liguria_Cartoline #LiguriaDaVivere #Liguria_More_Than_This #TheLigurians #PrettyLittleItaly #ItalyMagazine #ItalyTourism #ItalyIsBeautiful #ItalyIsLove #BBCTravel #TravelPhotographer #NeverStopExploring #TravelDiaries (at Dolcedo) https://www.instagram.com/p/CSXYboiIYAb/?utm_medium=tumblr
Samsung Galaxy S6 Taken on 17/03/2019. It never ceases to amaze me the long, thin region of Liguria – with a coastline stretching over 300km from Ameglia (bordering Tuscany) to Ventimiglia (bordering France) – has richly decorated pastel-coloured houses wherever you go. Even inland, where the mountains get taller and the valleys more narrow, you can't help but notice this distinctive characteristic. Feast your eyes, for example, on this photo I took this time last year in the medieval village of Dolcedo, situated in 'Valle Prino' ('Prino Valley'). Here, as you go further inland, you see a slightly different range of coloured houses with some painted in grey and brown. However, the colours of the windows and balconies remain practically the same, painted in dark green. It's unique townscapes like this that capture your heart as you explore the narrow alleys and passageways decorated with ivy and the odd flower pot. I really liked wandering along the cobbled streets, crossing the old Roman bridges and following the small stream that runs through the town. It was thanks to this stream that the olive oil mills could run in the past. The real treasure of this town, though, was the church you see on the left with a stunning interior. Dolcedo isn't far from Imperia (just 10km), so you can take a bus with 'Riviera Trasporti' and visit it one morning or afternoon to take a break from the sea and see another side of Liguria. Lesser-known, but maybe a better bet for some! ________________________________________ #ig_imperia #dolcedo #theprettycities #italycomestoyou #bellaitalia #ilbelpaese #italia #italy #ilikeitaly #bestdestinations #italy_hidden_gems #finditliveit #travelblogger #travelphotography #orgoglioliguria #lamialiguria #liguriagram #travelgram #gramslayers #huntgramitaly #smartphonephotography #samsung #ig_italia #yallersitalia #volgoitalia #ig_liguria #yallersliguria #volgoliguria #natgeotravel #lensculture (at Dolcedo) https://www.instagram.com/p/B94ZLDEIA2_/?igshid=1dztagzck3ysi
