⁣ Canon EOS 250D | 50mm | 1/640s | f/9 | ISO 100 ⁣ Taken on 02/05/2021.⁣ ⁣ Today’s Ligurian hotspots are the Cinque Terre and swanky Portofino. But head west of Genoa for now-quiet resorts such as Bergeggi, Varigotti, Laigueglia and Cervo.⁣ ⁣ The latter two are both classified as the prettiest villages in Italy. Cervo marks the beginning of the Imperia province, which stretches 60km all the way to Ventimiglia on the border with France.⁣ ⁣ This hilltop village is not just stunning: it also has a very long history. More than 2,000 years ago, the Romans established a stopping place there on the 'Via Aurelia', which at the time was an important trading route leading to France and Spain.⁣ ⁣ The medieval part of the village is a favourite not only for tourists but also artists who are keen to show their masterpieces to visitors.⁣ ⁣ Definitely walk up through the narrow 'caruggi' alleys and reach the beautiful Baroque church at the top of Cervo.⁣ ⁣ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲:⁣ ⁣ You can get to Cervo by taking the train from Genoa to Laigueglia. ⁣ Samsung Galaxy Note 10+⁣ Taken on 23/07/2021.⁣ ⁣ The hills and sea blend into a very natural environment in Liguria, so much so that any nature lover would fall in love with the region in a heartbeat.⁣ ⁣ Here's a photo I took a couple of days ago in Aregai, a sundrenched sprawling resort that is best known for its modern marina below, offering high quality services in yachting and boating and accommodating almost 1000 boats 🚢 .⁣ ⁣ That said, not a single boat was out at sea during my time in Aregai—maybe because of the sizzling sun.⁣ ⁣ 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲:⁣ ⁣ Aregai is reachable by bus ('Riviera Trasporti') from Imperia (Oneglia or Porto Maurizio), Arma di Taggia, San Remo, Diano Marina and Andora.
