Did a little doll surgery for science. I remember someone mentioned wanting to see what the B-Kind neck mech looked like and then someone saying more recently if the Jakks Encanto Isabela head would fit the B-Kind doll body. So I ordered the Isabela doll from Amazon. I dunked both in hot water and pulled off the heads. It’s to be noted that the B-Kind dolls head was a lot harder to get off and I think that maybe because it’s pretty hard in the first place.
I haven’t put the head on the body yet because I think a touch of fine tuning needs to be done. It’s safe to say that it will fit and it a much better option than that huge head and I really like like Isabela’s face. To be honest if that body had articulation I’d definitely be happy with it as is. Picture below also include the Glo-Up girl Kenzie as I plan on harvesting her feet.
ETA: I didn’t really do anything and was just able to pop her head on but it looks kinda different because the recess isn’t that deep so it seems like it would be loose but it’s snug and has great mobility, one or 2 angles look slightly precarious. Her hair needs a good wash which I’ll do later and then see if shaving the inner neck a smidge to see if it will sit a little bettered
todays project was giving Sam some more stability and pose-ability in his legs so he can stand up
i started by cutting some thick gauge wire, about eeh 18g, about what the same is in his arms, i measured his legs and roughly cut 12 inches, bending the ends and wrapping with electrical tape so it wont poke through
whats a pleasant surprise is his jammies come off, you just have to carefully cut where its tacked with glue, i advise behind the glue dot, i got lucky, mine was only tacked at a seam
after that i cut a slit in his hips equal spots apart in the front and inserted the wire down til it hit inside his foot roughly in the middle, then tucked the rest of the wire in and sewed the hole up, for a little extra security over the stitches i put a piece of electrical tape just to help ensure nothing will poke through as i pose him
and look at him now!! he can stand! he does take some balancing and i might put some rubber grips on the bottom of his feet to further help that but he turned out so good!!
if you get this Sam definitely give this a try if you want him to stand outside of his box!
BTS boy got a body upgrade. He’s an OK match for the man bun BMR doll. I carved out his neck hole and the head is just sort of squeezed on in place for now. I also gave him some CY Girl hands (I’m still looking for the spare non-gloved hands I have hidden away somewhere).
Living Dead Dolls Fashion Victims - How It’s Made
So today I decided I was going to talk about this vintage Living Dead Dolls Series 1 Fashion Victim "Sadie" Doll produced by Mezco Toys somewhere around the early 2000's. Living Dead Dolls are a brand of handmade mass-produced mini horror dolls. Fashion Victims, which came in two waves was a spin-off of this line. I can describe their proportions most similar to that of the modern-day Vladonna doll by Kidrobot for their big heads and bosoms.
I broke the neck pegs on both these hairmazing hairdorables bodies trying to get the first head off and then again trying to get another head *on*. Very delicate business. My bad.
Very happy with these otherwise!
had to make a dollightful move and cut a hole to replace some eyes. ill glue it back in place and it’ll get covered up with the wig. it made the replacement so much easier.
Edit: the doll is not ag brand. She’s one with very narrow eye sockets and I hurt my hand taking out the old ones, so I went for an easier method putting in the new ones when they arrived this afternoon.
