Kylar defending himself; inspired by the event when Whitney fights Kylar.

I used to think Kylar was the typical yandere character; basically, a super jealous character that would easily cut up anyone who so much as blinked at the PC.

But the more I talked with my friend who really likes Kylar, and took more time to actually experience his various interactions, the more I realized he was actually super cautious and seemingly terrified of physically harming another person.

Like. Kylar generally uses his tranq darts more often than his actual knife. He could manufacture deadlier darts in his lab if he wanted to, but he doesn't.

And when it comes to him actually using his knife, like against the PC if they are denying his advances, he just uses it to intimidate. He presses it against them but never stabs the PC, even when he's enraged at them during the kidnapping event.

Kylar is absolutely modeled after the yandere characters in anime, dont get me wrong, but instead of him wielding a knife covered in blood, he is more likely to wield it defensively...all the while terrified of actually needing to use it.

The only way I see Kylar ever stabbing anyone is if they are actively about to do something horrible to the PC.

This isnt to say I think scary, unhinged Kylars with bloody knives are wrong; I have written fics focusing more on him using his knife in the heat of anger....i just say all of this because I also want to see more anxious Kylars...

Give me more Kylars that dont want to hurt people and are unsure of best to protect themselves.
