There’s something really fascinating to me about the high desert. Seeing snow-capped mountains contrasted against Joshua trees and desert brushes in reds and golds always makes for such a beautiful sight. ⠀ ⠀ This photo was also taken back in January on our RV trip to the Grand Canyon. Where’s Waldo? 😜⠀ ⠀ Can you spot me? LOL—okay, I know it’s not that difficult. But I decided to post this photo because it really helps to explain how I felt while we were in Domeland Wilderness—like a tiny ant in a giant expanse of uncharted terrain. 🐜 ⛰ We really felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. At most of the National Parks these days, you almost always have to fight the crowds and very rarely feel as though you’re truly alone out in the wilderness. • 𝔻𝕠𝕞𝕖𝕝𝕒𝕟𝕕𝕤... 𝒽𝓊𝒽?? ⛰ ⠀ ⠀ It’s very likely you’ve never even heard of the Domeland Wilderness. If you have, you’re way ahead of the curve. I’ve lived in California my entire life—growing up in the mountains in Northern California and later moving to Southern California—and before my husband mentioned this place he went backpacking as a teenager, I had never even heard of it. He recounted visions of stunning rock formations—much like what you’ll see at Yosemite National Park—but without all the people. He talked it up so much that I had trouble believing it was as great as he recalled (after all, this trip he took was close to 20 years ago). But not only did Domeland Wilderness live up to the hype, but it was even better than I could have imagined. ⠀ ⠀ Have you been??? Tell me about it!
