Dominik through the holidays
Traditional Korean Wedding Paebaek Customs
So, I got to help out my sister and BIL in a photoshoot for her friend's website. It's a Korean wedding custom called a Paebaek. The original Paebaek ceremony was for the groom's side of the family to be introduced to the new bride. In current modern times, since it's most likely that groom & bride will have already met the family, this is more of a "show" and usually done during the reception at the wedding.
Since I like to incorporate Dominik into my pics as often as I can, here he is in the setup. Screen in the back, bamboo mat underneath, 2 floor cushions (where Dominik is standing), large table with traditional pastries/chestnuts (the ones in the picture are fake), and a small table with tea in the front.
Here's Dominik wearing the Groom's hat (left) and the Bride's headpieces (right).
Groom: Wears his wedding suit shirt, tie and pants. On top is the traditional outer garment with separate belt, hat and boots.
Bride: Wears a traditional hanbok with a red skirt (the top color doesn't matter since the outer garment covers it up), outer garment, belt, head piece, pin, garment for the head pin and finally the long headpiece in the back.
It was a fun shoot, and fun to see my sis and BIL acting silly while dressed in full formal Korean garb.
Rancho Cuyamaca State Park Camping
Haven't been camping in close to 10 years, so we decided that this year is when we start making it a yearly thing....
This year - Rancho Cuyamaca State Park in Descanso, CA near San Diego. Since it was Labor Day weekend, it took us 5 hrs to get there...Ugh.
Dominik was a trooper....he's a dainty, indoor dog, but he put up with the dirt like a trooper.
This campsite was nice, with lots of shade, a firepit and a water spigot at each campsite. It did not have a grill (except for the few bars that were on one side of the firepit).
I learned that headlamps are a necessity...for walking to the bathroom at night...
Dominik was tied up all weekend...but he had the longest tie-out ever...considering it wasn't attached to anything on the other end. He's such a good boy that he never left the campsite without our permission.
Dominik patiently waits for everyone else to wake up...
All the burned trees made it look like Mordor...
Dominik always found the best shaded areas...
Morning walk, looking for wild turkeys....
Little Momo didn't feel like waking up yet...but was curious about all the ruckus outside...
YJ believes that everything tastes better cooked on camping forks...including petite brownie bites...
Dominik passed out in the tent....
All in all, it was a good trip. The drive there was too long and the weather was too hot.
Next year...camping near an ocean...
Awesome “Odie” ears!
Domi and his siblings…they grow up so fast!
This is Domi’s fancy up-do.
Welcome to our family, Dominik Gustav Wagner Linux Lee !
This little, soon-to-be large dog, was rescued into my life on March 2010.
