When You Take Care Of Him When He’s Ill ~ Highlight Reaction
Your eyes looked across as Doojoon continued to shuffle in the bed beside you, unable to find a comfortable position for himself. “Are you alright?”
His eyes widened as he looked across to see that you were awake beside him. “I’m sorry, I just feel so unwell, I can’t find a way to get off to sleep at all tonight.”
“Can I do anything?” You offered, pressing your hand to his forehead to feel just how warm he was. “Can I get you a cold flannel or something, you feel a little hot right now.”
His head shook back at you, “I keep switching between hot and cold, my body just can’t seem to make its mind up. I don’t want to do aside from cry at this point to be honest with you.”
“It’ll be alright,” you tried to assure him, offering him a weak smile, “why don’t you take the duvet off for now? We can swap in a blanket to try and cool you down a bit?”
“But what about you?” He questioned as you tried to move the duvet away, “won’t you get a little bit cold if you just sleep underneath a blanket?”
“I’d rather sleep under a blanket and know that you’re asleep too.”
“Are you sure?” He asked you softly, “you don’t have to do such a kind thing just for me, I’m sure that I’ll feel a bit better in the morning.”
“No arguments, let go so I can look after you.”
You smiled softly as you walked into the apartment to see Yoseob still laid out across the sofa. “How are you feeling?” You asked as you perched on the sofa.
His head shook as he wrapped the blanket that was draped over him further around his body. “Right now, it feels as if I’ve been knocked over by a giant truck.”
“Well, I stopped off at the shop on my way home,” you began to tell him, placing the bag on the floor, “got a few little things that I thought might cheer you up a bit.”
The smile on his face slightly turned up as he peered into the bag, “you didn’t have to do that, I don’t even know how much of that I’ll be able to keep down right now if I’m honest with you.”
“It’s motivation to get better,” you suggested instead, “you don’t have to eat it right now, but whenever your body feels ready, its there as a treat for you to enjoy.”
“You’re always so kind to me,” he whispered with a groggy tone, “no one has ever looked after me so well before when I’ve been ill like this.”
“Do you want anything else? Cup of tea? Maybe some more soup?”
“Could I have a cup of tea?” Yoseob asked you, “I’m in a bit of a cold phase right now and could do with warming up a little bit.”
“I’m on it, you sit tight, and I’ll be back in a minute.”
Your head shook as you walked into the bedroom to see Gikwang wide awake. “I bought you up here because you were supposed to be trying to get some rest.”
Gikwang nodded as he lifted up the tissue beside him, “I was asleep, but did you not just here me have a giant sneezing fit, I made myself jump too Y/N.”
“You’re impossible,” you laughed, sitting down on the end of the bed, “whilst you’re awake, I was thinking of making some soup if you wanted some bringing up for you to eat?”
Gikwang’s head shook in reply to you, “I think I might try and close my eyes for another hour or so if you don’t mind. Would that soup still be available in maybe an hour when I wake up?”
“Of course,” you responded, resting your hand against his leg, “you get as much sleep as you need, I’ll hold off on making the soup until you wake up so that it will be nice and warm.”
“I can eat now if you don’t want to wait,” Gikwang tried to assure you, but your head shook back at him, more than happy to be accommodating to him.
“It can wait, it won’t take a few minutes, I can prep it for now.”
“You’re too good to me,” Gikwang smiled as you stood back up, “come back up in an hour and wake me up if I’m not awake already please.”
“I’ll let you sleep for as long as you need to, don’t worry.”
You knocked gently on the bathroom door as you heard Dongwoon on the other side, slowly opening it up to see him over the toilet bowl. “You good?”
He immediately cringed as he heard the sound of your voice, feeling terrible that you had spotted him in such a state. “I didn’t mean to disturb what you were doing.”
“You’re not disturbing me, I was worried about you,” you smiled, taking a seat beside him, “are you alright? Do you need anything?” You asked, but his head shook back at you.
A sigh came from him as he slowly leant back against the side of the bathtub. “I don’t know what happened, one minute I felt fine and the next minute I just had to run across and get in here.”
“I think your body is exhausted,” you suggested, relaxing your hand against his leg, “you’ve been working so hard recently it wouldn’t surprise me if your body wanted to give up.”
“I’m sorry that you had to see me like this,” Dongwoon then added, sinking further down against the bath, “it’s not exactly my finest hour right now.”
“I don’t care how you look; I just want you to be alright.”
“I’ll be good in a moment,” he assured you, “I think I just need to take it easy for a little while, I don’t really fancy being sick again.”
“Let me take care of you for a while Dongwoon.”
