Ok y'all I DO NOT recommend to do this yourself! I'm a professional cosmetologist for over 14yrs, and even this I should have waited to have my sister/stylist do it for me lol. So, I tried to document my hair coloring process but it wasn't all that. However, here are the products and before shots of my brassy hair!!! I've been coloring my hair for years and years so I had no virgin hair to easily lighten. If you look back at some of my previous hair color post, you can see all the different transformations I've gone through. I really want to stress that I lightened my hair in steps. Having dark hair and previous color over color, my hair went through that yucky red, orange, yellow phases. I had to tone and work with what my hair decided to do. Also, I've been testing different methods of lightening my hair and bleaches as well. The one in the video is AMAZING. My formula to get my hair blonde I used Schwarzkopf BlondeMe bleach and 40vol on my darker areas. I didn't touch the hair that's already been prelightened to a level 8+ I didn't apply the bleach on my scalp either, just free hand painted the bleach onto the hair. Definitely time consuming but worth it! No foils, and then I put my hair in a cap as shown with no heat. I would check about every 5-10 minutes to see how the hair is changing. I left it on for approximately 20-25 mins. Then I rinsed it with cool water. I softly patted my hair dry- no rubbing.
