𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐊𝐀𝐈 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑 𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐋 - Zev/ran Arai/nai
So as I said. I am carrying over a lot of his canon for this, because as much as I would love to fit him into pre-existing content... Zev just doesn't work how I want with what we have. The Crows are integral to his writing, and the development of his character over the course of his life. They are all he's known; he was taken as a child, and raised to be an assassin, And as he grew up, he was subject to the increasing corruption and discourse as internal politics climbed.
Before I get into Zev himself- the hierarchy, and inner workings of The Crows is much like it is in Dragon/Age canon. Which you can read in this post here for reference and understanding. In HSR Tre/viso is actually a trade city found on the small moon known as Ant/iva. The world is much like Ant/iva is in canon, which can also be found in a post all it's own here, just so I can really get to the heart of the verse.
The Crows are... surprisingly difficult to get in contact with. They're so much more than bounty hunters- they're assassins. Their work effects entire worlds, altering the political climates of governments, and can influence trade agreements, cut the thread of bloodlines and more. They are as elusive as they are renowned, feared for their reach as an organization. So revered that even the IPC does not dare overstep or overreach, leaving Ant/iva unbothered. Though the planet does maintain some trade lines with the corporation, and has other agreements in place.
But. More specifically on Zev, and his spot in things. All of this is pretty close to his canon anyhow- so...
He was taken when he was Seven years old. After his mother passed, her debt was paid off- and he was 'purchased' by The Crows. Just like in canon, he underwent brutal training, bordering at times on torture. He was trained to endure anything imaginable, and how to kill without hesitation or doubt. He spent these early years of his life alongside two other fledgling crows; Talie/sen, and Rin/na. The trio are also much like they were in canon- which I'll cover in a post all it's own. As these two are not only childhood friends, but past romantic interests of his. And due to their influence on his life, they need their own breakdown...
The corruption of The Crows was apparent after Zev reached adulthood, and rose in rank within the organization. Long story short, he'd defect for a time. Before coming back to murder talons, and force a reform within it's ranks.
Despite being an assassin, known for his talent with poisons and seductions, he has some pretty solid morals. He doesn't believe failure is an end all, he always keeps any promises he makes ( he wont make them if he can't ), and there are certain lines he refuses to cross.
He does not formally consider himself one of the crows, but keeps in touch with the current talons and guild masters. Zev claims he's retired, but still takes on work for certain people if... he feels like it.
The Crows don't seem to follow any one path, though many people assume it has ties to The Finality. As every contract is carefully considered, to see how deeply it will effect the universe and it's flow at large.
Zev/ran however follows The Elation- beforehand he was definitely more aligned with The Hunt, as he pursued corrupt crows to ensure the reform happened within his time. But he has always tip-toed between multiple paths, and how aligns with Aha, though does not tie himself in with any existing organizations. Acting entirely on his own to enjoy life and the unpredictability of it all.
Naturally, he's been to just about any and every planet you can think of. And has a good relationship with several people in universe. Of course he doesn't get along with everyone- so there's people he doesn't get along with. I have a good idea on who fits where- but I guess plotting can change that.
He has ONE child. Esha. Who will get her own post. :) Single dad Zev so real.
