Everyone will think these homemade donuts are from a bakery because they are so delicious! They're sweet, fluffy, and ideal for any situation.
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 2 tsp baking powder. 1/2 tsp salt. 2/3 cup milk. 2 large eggs. 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted. 1 tsp vanilla extract. Oil for frying. 1 cup powdered sugar. 2-3 tbsp milk. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. Sprinkles optional.
Instructions: Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a mixing bowl. Mix the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl. To form a dough, pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until thoroughly mixed. Place the dough on a floured surface and roll it out to a thickness of about 1/2 inch. Cut out doughnut shapes with a donut cutter, then arrange them on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Heat oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit 175 degrees Celsius in a deep fryer or large, deep skillet. The donuts should be carefully added to the hot oil and fried for one to two minutes on each side, or until golden brown. After removing the donuts, put them on a plate covered with paper towels to absorb extra oil. To make the glaze, combine milk, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl. After dipping each donut into the glaze, place them back on the paper towel to allow any extra glaze to drip off. While the glaze is still wet, you can optionally top the donuts with sprinkles. Before serving, let the glaze settle for a few minutes. Take pleasure in your freshly baked donuts!
