The day also took in three (3) doocots of differing styles.
The first is in the grounds of Dirleton Castle and is what's called a 'beehive' doocot. The second is in the kirkyard at Athelstaneford and is called a 'lectern' doocot; it now contains a little audiovisual display about the supposed origins of the Scottish flag.
The third is at Phantassie Farm a short walk from Preston Mill and is... weird. It's mostly a beehive doocot like the one at Dirleton, but kind of looks like the builders decided at the last minute that they wanted a lectern doocot instead and slapped on a sloping roof.
