Lip sync tests for the three main characters of Rock Paper Scissors. One of my tutors actually recorded some lines for the paper policeman character which I synced up to the middle drawings!

Drawn while waiting for a delayed plane a few days ago, on the way back from Orlando, with some of it done when finally on the plane. Dashinuke, whats-her-face from Were-Rabbit, Gir, Spongebob (who is bloody everywhere over there in orlando.), an awful Mickey Mouse, Danger Mouse, and loadsa other junk, including caricatures of people that were sitting around in the same room. Eh.

The early very scribbly storyboard for Lucy Lolly. The first three pages were drawn back in 2006 while on a long plane journey, and the fourth page was added last year when I decided to come back to the idea of this film. It still surprises me how much of this resembles the final film considering it was all scribbled out on the fly (literally huhuh) with no planning.

The Labbox lives up in the clouds, directly above Istanbul, in a tall tower with 72 bathrooms, but only 3 toilets.

Remember this guy? I doodled him sometime over the summer holidays, and now he has a role in an animated short I will start developing very soon! The film is called 'Paper Scissors Rock', and this character's name is now 'Oscar', and he is the 'Rock' of the story. He is how he now looks with a little refinement and some colour:

The 'Scissors' of the story will be 'Snip', my recent re-invention of a childhood character design I also showed you doodles of once. Their roles? They're neighbours. Oscar is a grumpy old git who's only enjoyment comes from relaxing in his garden. Snip has a force of habit of cutting things in half. There will also be a 'Paper' character, who you'll have to wait and see for. I can't show much of the storyboard I not long ago scanned, as it'd spoil what happens in it, but here's some samples:

I plan to get the sound sorted out within the next week, and then I'll be able to start animating it! It sure is gonna be hard work! I'll hopefully be ready to release it sometime in January, although because this is for the character animation project at Uni first and foremost, that main element of the film will come first, then if I still have time I'd add in the backgrounds etc. If not, I'll do them after the project is due in my spare time to finish it off, so it all depends when you'll get to see it complete. I'll be dropping more development samples here when I can, though!

I was up last night doodle vomiting again. Here's what I found amongst all the carrots that always seem to appear in it. I went back to some old drawings for inspiration and decided to re-design my characters for a Whack-a-mole style video game I made up once called BishBashBosh. Harry legs is a drawing interpretation of a character I used to act out with my hands and my glasses. Yes, I used to amuse myself by pretending my hands were cartoon characters I made up when I was a kid.

Treemor on this page is another old character of mine (from around 1997-98), although he really didn't have much to go by other than being on roller blades. He was originally an Egg, but I've decided to make him a potato instead, and in these doodles came up with an idea of him falling in love with a chip (AKA a French Fry for you lot in the US). The twist would be that the chip was actually cut from Treemor himself. His name is Treemor because he lives in a tree.I dunno.

Oh and Dynamite Headdy is among these for no particular reason.
