8 - favorite month and why?
Ooh I don’t know. I like how August sounds. It’s orange and warm to me, but in the way that a sweater or heating on a cold day is.
Uhm uhhh Shout-out to @doodlepede for an epic as fuck theory about the karma signs and being the best friend Sliverest ever. (You'll know who this is that sent it @ doodle)

(Amaranthine!Ambroys is referencing Aasimar!Ambroys’ previous insult - because somehow I’ve drawn him bickering with himself more than once)
Yep, Ambroys started as my DnD player character! Just a throwaway PC I specifically made as a joke... but I guess the joke’s on me for getting so attached. He got furrified later on to fit into the world @chocodile made. I actually wasn’t very confident in his design, as at the time I didn’t draw furries very often and wasn’t sure if I was doing it “right.” I do get the impression that people generally prefer his unicorn design to his OG design regardless, haha.
It would absolutely burn Aasimar!Ambroys up inside to think he’s been upstaged by a newer model - and I think he’d also be a bit baffled as to why people seem to think a guy with a horse’s head is so dreamy.
Of course, Amaranthine!Ambroys would counter that Aasimar!Ambroys has a horse’s face too, and it doesn’t look so good on a human.
i feel like a lot of people who make lightfury redesigns never consider anything but aesthetic when doing so. what makes the nightfury in particular so believeable is how it is visually and behaviourally (in 1 at least >:/) based on real animals, it all comes together into something that feels very plausible. i think the lightfury is a little too smooth and boring but you can actually see a lot of cool concepts in there. definitely see beluga whale so maybe it hunts by using sonar to scout for schools of fish before diving into them with a plasma blast like a pelican, and then give it catfish barbels just because its cute and continues that lightning sorta thing. it just needed to go harder into what was already there i think
Even though it looks like it I actually don't think beluga whales were one of the animal inspirations for her/them - it's never mentioned in any interview/the art book/etc. and you can't really see it in any of the early/concept designs - but anyway yeah if you look you can see that the Light Fury actually does have some cool concepts/ideas behind certain aspects of her design, or at least originally did. They just ended up removing most interesting things from her design to make her more feminine or whatever and it sucks. Like they really should have kept things like the snow leopard markings, like you can't even really tell she's supposed to be partly based on snow leopards if you only look at her final design lol.
I don't remember if you mentioned this book before or if I found it coincidentally but either way - I bought the book "Borne on the Wind: the Extraordinary World of Insects in Flight" by Stephen Dalton and it's a wonderful book. Lots of images, wonderful insights. A good read for anyone who loves insects, or wants to learn to :)
I haven’t mentioned it! I don’t own it myself. Thanks for the rec! :D
