The most doomed Sburb session, 1987
oc for a friend's fansession :)
may i please have an analysis with a prospit lord of chaos (same definition as sibling relationship ask, rah/tss/tssh/tsshs/tsself), a derse muse of order (also same definition, roh/tsh/tsh/tshs/tshself), a derse prince of life (saen/trah/trah/trahs/trahself), a prospit theif of life (hebe/gha/ghagh/ghas/ghaself), a dual dreamer sylph of life (ven/rshsh/rushsh/rshshes/rshshself), a derse knight of rage (mara/tchca/tchca/tchcas/tchcaself), a prospit heir of hope (ara/trin/trin/trins/trinself), a dual dreamer prince of light (tenbe/bzt/bzzt/bzts/bztself), a derse page of breath (aze/tznn/tzinn/tznns/tznnself), and a derse witch of void (saen/trah).
sorry about the big session and the funky pronouns
Normally, I would absolutely do my utmost to adhere to everyone's preferred pronouns, but due to my own lack of ability to parse this array, I will go forth with the slightly less difficult and inoffensive option: Using no individual pronouns whatsoever! That way everybody is equally unsatisfied! Here we go!
So, as previously discussed, the Lord of Chaos will be a game-changer - literally. The Lord will change the game, every time it seems to get boring, and the Lord won't accept any saminess. However, the Muse of Order will be seeking the opposite. The Muse will try and coax the other players into a pattern, perhaps offering them schedules and notions on how to do things "the right way". As a Derse dreamer, the Muse may get a little passive-agressive, but the Muse's way of thinking will just seem so reasonable! It may turn into a quandry of the Muse and Lord forming individual "teams" that work toward their own ideals!
The Sylph of Life will most likely be on the Lord's side of things, fostering growth and change in the Sylph's fellow players. The Knight of Rage will probably want to work with the Lord as well, though the Knight's presence will most likely show a benefit for the Muse's goals for the session. The Page of Breath won't be a mover or a shaker out the gate, but once the Page gets going, bringing movement and direction to others left and right, you can bet the Lord will want the Page on the Lord's side of things. Then, there's the Prince of Light. Prone to blazing a trail that can be seen a mile away, the Prince will be the Lord's ace in the hole, eager to beat the way toward that fortuitous horizon.
The Muse will not be without help, however. The Thief of Life and Prince of Life will most likely aid the Muse, stealing or outright destroying growth and change before it can affect the session in unpredictable ways. The Witch of Void will manipulate secrets, making sure everyone only knows as much as they need to know. In the end, it may be up to the Heir of Hope to bring everyone together. The Heir is the only one I can see playing for either side, promising all the Heir's fellow players that, as long as they believe in their conviction to survive and win the game, anything is possible. The Heir might become such a shining beacon that everyone will look to the Heir for leadership - even the Muse and Lord, if things have devolved too far!
Unfortunately, this is all ignoring two very important things: Time and Space. You have players for neither. That means no Forge and no do-overs. All you have is a war with Derse for no gain for the players beyond trying to end up living in peace with the residents of the Medium after the fighting is all done, with as many players as have survived to that point.
So yeah, this session has even bigger issues than me not knowing how to refer to the players casually, but if the Heir can manage to tough it out and bring everyone back together on the hope of mutual success, if might just be possible to find a happy ending of some sort! Good luck!
various oc refs i did for artfight this year
bunch of oc work ive done for @penultimateapogee :)

Hahaha! Congrats on offering the most unique session request I’ve gotten so far! Well, assuming the kids have access to their normal wizard/witch magic, they’ll certainly have a starting advantage in Sburb! Harry makes a certain amount of sense as a Page of Doom, since early on he’s always living outside the rules, yet later lays down the law. He could easily apply that sort of powerful sway to the session. I’m sure his best buddy Ron will love being called a Maid of Blood, heheh! Well, he certainly does keep the team working hard together, so can’t fault that! And of course a know-it-all like Hermione makes a perfect Mage of Light. At first I thought Seer was better for her, since she is only too happy to share her knowledge with everyone in the room, but given all the eye-rolling that comes of it, maybe a standalone Mage does fit best.
Now, your classpect for Neville I do really want to disagree with. Having been such a pathetic, less-than-confident figure a the start, only to reveal himself as The True Hero near the end makes me want to peg him as a dyed-in-the-wool Page of Hope! Still, this is your session idea, so we’ll assume that, being a Page of Blood, he’s going to be a big help to Ron’s teamwork-building skills later on. With most Pages, I feel like it’s a toss-up whether they’ll manage to hit their peak, but I believe in Neville “Most Likely to Grow Up into a Hunk” Longbottom! Anyways, we’ve got sweet Ginny being the cutest Rogue of Heart since Nepeta heself, helping everyone who needs to be together and show affection do so for their own good. And of course I’m delighted that you rounded out the roster with Luna as a Seer of Void, perfect for a spacing-out girl who’s always helpful, whether or not anybody understands or pays attention!
Of course, speaking of Space, it’s time to address the one respect in which this session is unfortunate: No Space or Time players. Certainly, the help of their magic will be tremendous in helping the Hogwarts alumni stay alive, but without a Forge, there’s no Genesis Frog, and without that, the session is Void from the start. I dunno, maybe they can magic themselves up a Forge and make it work? If anybody can figure it out, it’ll be Hermione and Luna. Good luck, you magical boys and girls!
vivithedragon said: Do you think there is a point to Void sessions? Is there an end goal, a way to go on, or is it literally just players saved from their dying planet only to end up in empty worlds where they only have each other for company forever?
Under normal circumstances, I’m afraid there appears to be no point to the creation of a void session. Without an evolved Battlefield, the Ultimate Reward cannot be obtained and the session cannot progress past the point of entry. in theory, the players might still have their own individual quests, maybe some cohorts to interact with, and of course the residents of Prospit and Derse, so at least it’s not as lonely as you might at first think. That said, without interference from outside their Medium, the players in such a session are going nowhere, ever. The best they can do is reach the top of their echeladders and decide whether they want to spend the rest of their lives in the Medium as God Tiers or not, then either kill themselves or don’t based on that decision. Kinda depressing, but such is the nature of a doomed session...
Anonymous said: a session analysis with a Witch of Mind; Slyph of Doom; Knight of Life; Thief of Rage, please? The KoL is the leader btw
Hate to say it, but this session can be figured out at a glance: It’s doomed, a void session. You have no Space player and thus no way to win the game, and without even a Time player, you have no way to scratch the session and let some other players get their shot at a re-do. The only way you can get out of this situation is if you’re starting in an already scratched session and your predecessors are somehow on their way to join you with the means of creating the Genesis Frog!
Aw, screw it! I’m a Page of Hope! I gotta distribute faith to everyone! Let’s just assume what I suggested is true, that help is on the way. For now, you just have to focus on your individual quests and climbing your echeladders. The Knight of Life makes sense, bringing a lack of Life to a session that’s doomed on its own, but at least they will be keen to keep everyone alive until backup arrives. The Thief of Rage will be doing their best to keep everyone calm while the Witch of Mind will be the master planner - the Knight may be the team’s “leader”, but they’d best be taking advice from the Witch! The Sylph of Doom may be an emergency healer, if not much of a pep-talker. She’ll most likely be the first to figure out that the session is Void and will do her best to keep everyone productive despite their trouble. Good luck!
