REPRESENTATIONS OF GROUNDWATER PHYSIOCHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS NEAR THE SUBURB AREA OF ASAN RIVER (UTTARAKHAND), INDIA |  Journal of Global Ecology and Environment

Water dissolves minerals in the geological system because it is a good solvent. The physicochemical composition of groundwater is influenced by a number of causes, including chemical weathering of rocks. People living in urban cities are more prone to suffer from various health concerns due to pollution in groundwater. The goal of this study was to look at the various groundwater characteristics in five Asan River suburbs (Chandrabani, Badowala, NayagoanMallan, Parval Village, and Herbertpur) in Dehradun to see if they were appropriate for drinking. For this study, eight water quality variables/parameters were chosen (pH, TDS, Alkalinity, Total Hardness, Calcium Hardness, Magnesium Hardness, Chloride, and Nitrate). During a six-week period, twenty samples of groundwater were collected from the five sampling locations using 1 litre sterile polyethylene bottles. SEASONAL DENSITY OF ANOPHELES CULICIFACIES AND AN. SUBPICTUS (DIPTERA: CULICIDAE) IN RELATION TO CERTAIN ABIOTIC FACTORS | UTTAR PRADESH JOURNAL OF ZOOLOGY

From January to December 1990, researchers studied the seasonal density of Anopheles culicifacies and Anopheles subpictus in eight villages in the Sahaspur area of the Doon Valley, finding a single peak of high prevalence in July to September. During the study period, Anopheline man-hour densities ranged from 0.84 to 28.1. The largest density of larvae was seen in August 1990, and monthly fluctuations in larval density were recorded. Mosquito densities were affected by low rainfall, drought, and the right temperature. It was also discovered that settlements located along the river's edge are more susceptible to malaria because of the high mosquitogenic circumstances. BREEDING CAPACITY OF FRESHWATER PRAWN Macrobrachium assamensis (Tiwari) IN RIVER SONG FROM DOON VALLEY, UTTARAKHAND, INDIA | UTTAR PRADESH JOURNAL OF ZOOLOGY

The breeding capacity of Macrobrachium assamensis from the River Song in Doon Valley (Uttarakhand, India), as a function of body length, weight, ovary length, and ovary weight, is examined in this research. The prawns ranged in length from 29 to 48 mm and weight from 372 to 2412 mg. For a prawn measuring 48 mm in length and weighing 2412 mg, with an ovary length of 15 mm and a weight of 215 mg, the highest breeding capacity was 80. For a prawn measuring 29 mm in length and weighing 372 mg with an ovary length of 07 mm and ovary weight of 64 mg, the minimum breeding capacity was determined to be 9. Prawn ovarian weight (r = 0.916) and ovary length (r = 0.872) were shown to be more important than body length (0.843) and body weight (r = 0.839) in determining breeding capacity.

FECUNDITY OF THE SNOW FED MINOR CARP Barilius bendelisis (HAM.) (PISCES: CYPRINIDAE) FROM RIVER YAMUNA, INDIA | UTTAR PRADESH JOURNAL OF ZOOLOGY

The current research looks at the fecundity of the snow-fed minor carp Barilius bendelisis in the Yamuna River in Uttarakhand, India. The fecundity of the snow fed water fish ranges from 162 to 4203, with the fish ranging 58mm to 120mm in length.
