Join me and other creators in the Rogue Trader fandom for Dopamine Week! During Dopamine Week, we're focused less on creating and sharing our own stories, and more on sharing our love and appreciation for the hard work of others!

During Dopamine Week, take the opportunity to read some of the amazing stories in the fandom and let the authors know how much you like them! Leave them kudos! Leave them comments. Reread your favorites - do whatever you like!

Your strategy for Dopamine Week could be to read a lot of short fics, focus on a long fic, catch up on a variety of stories, or even focus on a particular author. There's no predetermined theme to guide your reading.

On June 21, join me and others on the Dopamine Week Live Reading Discord to listen to some of your favorite fanfic authors and community members read excerpts from their stories! Excerpts are usually 15 minutes in length and range from PG-13 and upwards, with appropriate content flagging.

✨ What I Read and Why You Should Read It, Too ✨

My Knight So Daring by @holylustration

“That doesn’t matter, Lady Aurelia. Tradition is tradition. You must learn that, if you wish to survive.” A mean looking smile passed over Lady Enna’s lips, though Aurelia wasn’t sure if that was the fault of the woman or the make up she wore, “Lord de Gauvain’s first wife was a beautiful and learned woman of the highest breeding. But he killed her within a year of their marriage. Given your... situation, and your temperament thus far, I’m not sure you’ll last half a year.”

A Knight Pilot AU whose first chapter has me by the THROAT. Holy's done a wonderful job of painting not just the atmospheres of Alera II and Guisorn III, but the entire proverbial regicide board of politicking and marriages of convenience that will settle the war between worlds. Not ONLY THAT, but Heinrix de Gauvain is a hard-edged man with a crimson mechanical eye, wrapped in bloody mystery concerning the suspicious death of his last wife. GO READ IT!!!

Vows over Amasec by @amasec

The Interrogator kissed her with the eagerness of a man starved entirely of affection; or, more likely, a man who had been unable to steal even the briefest moment alone with his Lord Captain for over a week.  And Heinrix was not known for his patience. 

I LOVE the way Leonard writes every smutty encounter between Runa and Heinrix, and this one's no different, pals. So much of Heinrix's flustered personality comes through in the two chapters I've read of this -- frustration that bows to its very limitations before it snaps and bleeds with delicious, steamy goodness. RUN, DO NOT WALK!!!

He moved easily, confidently, mounting the steps to her desk with his hand resting on the pommel of his sword. The buttons on his coat shone. A pleasant expression played on his face, relaxing the corners of his mouth. It was an act.

Guys it's my favourite genre of fiction: Heinrix x Crime Lord RT, following the destruction of Rykad Minoris. The TENSION! The LAYERS! The LETHAL GAMES! The 3d chess everyone's playing at all times! Stubbs enjoyers, this one's for you - and you will NOT be disappointed!!!

“Reckless.” Heinrix’s rebuke was accompanied by a disdainful scoff, and Visenya fought the urge to turn a scathing glare on the Interrogator. Though they were becoming more familiar with one another – she’d even go so far as to call it ‘friendly’ – their budding…whatever it was did not grant him permission to be a sassy dick.

I've endeavored to stay caught up on this one, and, y'all, the latest chapter of MH had me HOWLING at the humour. Heinrix is exactly as fussy with the recruitment of Yrliet as you hope, and the internality that Four weaves in makes the moment even more delicious. I can't wait for Heinrix to be this bitter about her for the rest of the series - and I'm sure Visenya can't, either, LOL.

The relationship between Heinrix x Visenya burns slow in this one, but the tenderness blooming between them is something I die for, each and every time I come across them. <3

Out of the corner of her eye, she glimpses Jae studying her, and somewhere in the back of her mind ponders what this Cold Trader, this consummate dealmaker, sees and what calculations she is making this time. What she will ask for. What Nora knows she can—will—give her, because now, it is all just a drop in the ocean.

DID YOU WANT SOMETHING WARM AND SULTRY BETWEEN ROGUE TRADER AND COLD TRADER? STEP RIGHT UP! Happy Pride to all of us because FlameMittens has knocked it out of the PARK with the tone of this one, the swirling intrigue that serves as undercurrent to an otherwise very delightfully romantically tense moment between Nora and Jae. Everyone has their secrets, and I am dying to find out how these two unravel each other.

As my initial contribution to Dopamine Week, I'd like to shout out three particular people who were wonderful windows to Rogue Trader for me, and continue to contribute to the community in wonderful ways and enriching my dash constantly:

@ronqueesha — My friend, thank you so much for finally dragging me into 40k! It's always is such a treat to see your ficlets, blurbs and prompts for Nasosi (and Yrliet), and you've also helped enrich so much of my view of the canon with your lore posts that are incredibly helpful to my own writing. I often think about the occasion where Nasosi feels Yrliet's warmth by picking up her rifle, I'm just not immune to the indirect touching and Nasosi's whole conflict that goes along with it! ❤️

@lordcaptains — I have you to blame thank for nudging me towards Heinrix. Even before I could enjoy him from my own point of view, all your blurbs of him and Orica gave me such an appreciation for the character and I'm always so excited to see a new WIP, ficlet or one of your analysis of him / Orica / the pair show up in my dash. I have many favorites from you but the post ice event where Orica takes care of Heinrix is disputing for first place!

@pheedraws — You're another one responsible for making me give Heinrix a little more attention when I got the game! Every little glimpse I got and get of Livea and Heinrix is such a treat and you have such a wonderful way to write Heinrix's POV (specially as it concerns Livea). Probably exposing my whole ass self here but I sometimes randomly think of Sanctified (NSFW warning!) and get a little blushy because, whew. (And I'm making eyes at your Regicide WIP every time it shows up reaaally badly. 👀)
