"The Worst It Will Ever Get For Stefan Riley" fanart of @alysongreaves' Dorley Hall series
Crossover concept: Repressed tgirl Taylor Hebert gets basemented after the trio makes up some stuff about Taylor assaulting them and the Dorley girls believe it.
Probably makes the most sense to do it in a world without parahumans but I think there are ways to do Dorley in Earth Bet: Taylor deciding to keep her (recently gained) powers secret when she realises that the Dorley girls don't know and using it to spy on everyone (duh), maybe one of the Dorley sponsors using a power to mentally torture the basementees.
Taylor and Stef would definitely have different responses to Dorley. I feel like Taylor would rail against it for a while – even after she admits to herself that she's trans – because she would remain focused on not deserving to be there, not trusting the sponsors, perhaps assuming the trio got her basemented on purpose.
Me seeing the new Dorley chapter notification: oh yay finally, I'll read it over dinner
Me seeing its 40k words long: Okay guess I need a free afternoon 💀
I still haven't quite worked out what Dorley does so that it doesn't fall into the same trap as HDG for me. Perhaps it's that it isn't afraid to discuss its own politics, but like how seriously is Dorley ever actually arguing against itself? Perhaps it's because the characters basically retain full lucidity about their situation and are basically free to go once it's done? idk. The Dorley grads aren't exactly homogenous in their opinions on the place, but it would still be nice to see more discussion from different viewpoints.
Enough with Celeste and Dorley and whatever else, what piece of absolutely insignificant and not even well made piece of media changed your life forever.
For me it was a stellaris timelapse video.
The Sisters of Dorley book 1 in audio is fully there!
Since the start of the year I have been gradually working to produce an audio series version of The Sisters of Dorley by @alysongreaves releasing it chapter by chapter. You can find the full playlist here
You can directly download the audio files here
The both platforms are self-hosted by me and were chosen (instead of posting on Youtube for example) to make sure the licensing was correctly respected giving it unfortunately a reduced visibility.
Now that the 1st book is fully done I intend to do a 2nd pass on all the audio files and update them to match the audio post-processing I was doing for the latest chapters (and replacing the scene transition sound that is different in the 1st few chapters).
Hope you all enjoy this and I am very much open to feedback as this is my 1st time doing something like this so I probably made 70 mistakes while recording and editing ^^.
God it's gonna be great seeing how the rest of the server reacts to the new Dorley chapter in a couple weeks.
I need Aaron to be nonbinary so badly. Adamant that it would work so well. Explains his eggy feelings and also his reluctance towards womanhood (though yes I know that is also a relatable trans woman mood when you feel like you'll never be "really" a woman) and also I just think it'd be neat. Would present growth for dorley also (what if they allowed people to be nonbinary without being girls first?)
