like lilylene being each other's firsts. their first realization that they like girls. they explore with each other, so their first kiss, their first time having sex, so on and so forth. it's all done on the basis that they're just friends and they're having fun bc they find each other hot and they're exploring their sexuality with someone they feel safe with etc etc. and it's all well and good for a while, until dorcas is suddenly a part of the narrative. and my absolute favorite flavor of all time is marlene wants lily -> lily wants dorcas -> dorcas wants marlene. and then i love it if it switches and uno reverses at any point for that little shock of how wanting and loving is a circuit, a closed loop, and wanting to be wanted and loving to be loved can sometimes feel like wanting and loving, so then it becomes marlene wants dorcas -> dorcas wants lily -> lily wants marlene. and none of them want each other at the same time. they're seething with jealousy and all fucking like the world could end tomorrow. they're madly in love and they hate each other so much it drives them even more madly in love. they're having the "it's her, it's always going to be her" discussion every other week and not bothering to date each other bc they will immediately cheat with whoever is on the outside. dorlily tried to date for a week and then lily fucked marlene in a back alley and was told to moan her girlfriend's name but she forgot it when marlene had her pinned to the wall. and lily just had to go home and tell dorcas about that, or maybe she didn't. maybe she couldn't bring herself to, and so dorcas had to find out the following week when marlene looked up from between her legs and told her in explicit detail all about it. like, just them on a constant cycle, lilylene dating and inevitably ending up fucking dorcas, dorlene doing the same with lily, and dorlily helpless to marlene the same way. like, they all always want what they don't have and keep blurring the line until they're all miserable and also somehow having the times of their lives.
