Packing for college can be incredibly stressful and so I thought that it would be nice for me to make a little comprehensive list of my Dorm Room Must - Haveās!Ā
1. Over-the-door-rackĀ
Bed Bath and Beyond - $7.99
In a room with limited storage space, my roommate and I found it incredibly useful to have a rack where we could put our winter jackets and bath robes. It was super convenient to be able to quickly grab them and run out of the door if we were late for class or rushing to an event. It also prevented our jackets from ending up on the inevitable end-of-the-bed floor pile!Ā
2. Warm SlippersĀ
Target - $16.99
Youāre going to need slippers for the cold winter months. Trust me. I use mine for late night bathroom runs, nights in the living room and grabbing breakfast on the weekends. Slippers will keep your feet cozy and warm all while making you feel right at home. Make sure you buy slippers that are machine washable as you will be doing your laundry in a school washing machines.Ā
3. Throw PillowĀ
Bed Bath and Beyond - $20.00
I found it incredibly useful to have a pillow which I could use to lean up against the wall and do homework, watch TV and chill with friends! It keeps the cold away from you, itās comfy and adds a little extra touch of fun.Ā
4. Laundry Hamper
Amazon -Ā $15.99
I suggest buying a big, sturdy and foldable laundry hamper. Make sure itās easy to carry down stairs with you just in case you donāt end up living on the first floor of your house. I also highly suggest that it is foldable as you will have to store the majority of your things in the basement of your house at the end of the academic year and therefore youāll want something that wonāt take up a lot of space! Make sure your hamper is sturdy after all, youāll be using it more than you realize.Ā
5. Shower Shoes
Amazon - $15.00
Youāre going to want to invest in a good pair of shower shoes. These shoes are going to be showering with you each and every time so make sure theyāre good! I also highly recommend that they are shoes with a grip - you donāt want to be falling while getting in and out of the shower! Iāve seen it happen and it doesnāt look fun.Ā
