Sheriff Edelgard and Miss Arnault

COWGIRL YURI UPON YE CAN I GET A YEEEEEEHAW??? I had so much fun playing with dress designs and silhouettes and shading for this! I tried putting some thought into making connections between canon and my “cowboyverse” designs.

For Edelgard, I kept the overall design fairly simple yet regal (?) much like her Three Houses TS design. I added colorful tassels and other small bits to allude to the flashiness that comes with being an empress. I really, REALLY tried to incorporate her crown in this but I couldn’t think of a way how. I added a little headband, perhaps I should make her hat bigger?

For Dorothea, I took inspiration from barmaid type dresses because I think the silhouettes match her canon designs very well. I also added lots of lace and fishnets as a more amped, dramatic up version of her Three Hopes design. Im such a huge fan of the pinks and lace details!!!

Both of you always mutually hated each other. Both of you represented fully what the other one despised. So naturally, you didn't seek any interactions.

Although you did sometimes end up in situations where you had to speak, or worse cooperate.

Neither of you put in any effort into getting to know each other. Even when you kept surprising each other during those small moments of cooperation.

Despite everything you both admit that the other one is reliable. She doesn't put your personal drama when you need help on the battlefield and you do the same.

Maybe the way you ended up worrying about each other is what shifted everything. Even if you were busy with your own duties as an heir you found yourself wondering how was she doing.

You didn't have direct contact with her, honestly most of the time you saw your former classmates it was all for an official business and you couldn't stop for an idle chat to ask about Dorothea.

Instead you heard Caspar and Linhardt talking about the reunion, seems like they were still interested in going and you kept that in mind.

It was hard for you to find the time to talk with anyone during your work, but somehow once you entered the monastery it felt different.

You just... Allowed yourself to forget about the war for a second. You didn't even notice when Dorothea joined as well.

Honestly, you never thought you'd be happy to hear her voice- yet here you were. Glad that she was okay.

Both of you matured past your petty arguments. Did you apologize? Nope. But you shared laughs over how foolish you both were sometimes.

She didn't try to explain herself. More than that she even doubled down on some things she said.

If she said those exact words 5 years ago you'd probably end up in a shouting match. Yet somehow you ended up laughing about it.

You really used to not have real problems if you were worried about what "some commoner" thought. But now that you look at it, perhaps you cared because of how special she is.

She was always so caring and sweet towards the others- your pride was simply hurt when that didn't extend to you as well (even if you weren't the only one).

It's just a shame it took a war for you to figure it out. But at least you aren't at each other's throats anymore.

It's been so long since I've attempted a Serious At Piece. I slipped into some bad habits during the sketch phase which came back to haunt me while trying to finish it up, but I still think it ended out okay! A learning experience if nothing else.
