silence follows the words for a long moment, sansa unable to do anything but stare at the woman that stands beside her. her gaze goes forward, then. a smile curling up the corners of her mouth. sansa can’t hide it if she tries, and so she doesn’t even attempt to. she nods, once. slowly. carefully. she is tired, to her very core, of everything that she has been taught. told. reminded, again and again, as a child. she wants them to stop. she wants to make them listen, most of all. to learn from the mistakes that those before them have made. she can only hope that they listen, all the while knowing that they won’t. she doesn’t say that, though. there is a chance, a real possibility, that they can do something. together. they’re stronger if they’re together. “let’s write our own,” she murmurs in agreement, eyes shining. fingers brush against the other woman’s before she can even think of what she’s doing. it feels right, though, doesn’t it? “together.”

𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐅𝐔𝐋than the loss of innocence ; a red door perhaps forever closed , a rose with no petals , its dried pollen returning tothe sun . Howmany missteps have you taken , 𝐃𝐀𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐘𝐄𝐍 ? One , two , toomany ?
Sympathy doesn’t leave the brown of her eyes as she speaks , voice melting back into softness , intosomething close to home . ‘ How sad it is to grow up , yourGrace , if only we could have stayed children forever ; the world our playground , believing people and tales of their adventures . ’ Words dance off the tip of her tongue with theexcitement of a child , full of exuberance and vigour. THE MAID IS too ---in her own way . always pushing forward , striding despite the odds . a seemingly impossible quest thrust upon her . more than once, she had faltered and had thought it’d be best to abandon it , take a ship back to tarth and forget about the whole thing but she moved forward all the same . and now here she is , surrounded by the gray , snow speckled walls of winterfell with a family she helped reunite and a fulfilled oath .
she glances over the dragon queen , wondering if her own path led her to where she wanted it to be . was the journey worth it ? she had wanted to ask , but she chooses to hold her tongue . too personal , mayhaps . she was in no position to ask a queen such things .
“ and we are glad that you have come here, and you have chosen to aid us. “ brienne replies , her tone was all polite and stiff . “ with your dragons and your army , i’m sure we can take on whatever may come our way . “
