Imprisoned in Mirkwood // DOS AU
Thorin and his company had been traveling through Mirkwood forest, on their way to Erebor. They had been told by Gandalf to stay on the path, and they would reach the other side in a few hours. Now, they had become lost, and the wizard had warned them to beware of the enchanted stream. They had passed by that part of the wood an hour ago, maybe even longer, and ever since then, they had all become disoriented and completely lost. Even after he insisted they were not lost, they truly were.
Now, they had stumbled upon a part of the forest which contained the horrid beasts, the spiders of Mirkwood, and they were large hairy things, which attacked him and his company. Everyone but Bilbo, who had disappeared to where Thorin did not know. Now, they were wrapped up in the spiders cocoons and were about to become their next meal, but then Bilbo suddenly appeared again, as if out of nowhere, and had freed them.
Thorin and the company were battling the beasts, and killing them off in their packs, and they were almost successful, when there appeared the Elves of Mirkwood. They were just as Beorn had described them. They were unkind and much more dangerous than their Kin in Lord Elrond’s kingdom. They were captured by a whole group of them, their weapons and supplies taken away from them, but one of their kind, a she-elf had rescued his nephew Kili from being attacked by the spiders.
He could see she looked different to most of the elves there, in that she had red hair, and he was secretly grateful to her for killing the spiders which would have taken his younger nephew as a snack. Bilbo once again disappeared, and Bofur asked Thorin where he was. He had hoped their hobbit was safe, and would stay out of the clutches of the Elves, and would somehow rescue them as he had done so with the spiders.
Now, he and the company were all led away with their hands tied, and the rope lead to keep them all in line. He had spotted the she-elf again, but then he did not see her, after they were led inside the Kingdom of Mirkwood, his company was thrown into the Elvenking’s dungeons, he was led to speak with Thranduil, but the meeting did not go well, when the King of Mirkwood had offered his help, at a price, and one Thorin was not want to pay him. So, he basically told him that he would pour excrement on his head and those of his Kin. Then he too was thrown into the dungeons.
Thorin did not grumble too much when they were all stripped of their weapons and main travel tunics, and left in their under tunics and trousers and boots. They also took his most prized Dwarvish fur coat. He sat in the cell, and while the others tried to break free, he just sat and sulked, not sure now if they would ever reach the mountain in time for Durin’s Day.
He still had the map and key safely tucked away in a place where no one would ever find it, and he would make sure to keep that safe from the prying eyes of King Thranduil, and his Elves of Mirkwood. The rest of his company had fallen asleep, but he stayed awake, as he listened to the loud celebrations above their cells. He thought he heard footsteps of someone approaching his cell, and he tensed up, waiting to see if it were Bilbo, or maybe it was Thranduil, but he could not be sure, because the steps were light. So, he just waited to see who would appear in front of his cell.
