So as you all probably know, today is Star Wars day. As some of you may also know, Carrie Fisher would carry around glitter and apply it to peoples’ left side of their face, so many of us decided to do apply glitter to the left side of our faces to commemorate our fallen princess. I decided to channel my inner Carrie Fisher and carried glitter and a brush ALL day! I glitterfied at least 15 students and TWO teachers (I lost track). One of the teachers, our librarian, who I am semi-friends with (she’s a huge fangirl), heard about my Star Wars/Carrie Fisher glitter. She summoned me to go glitterfy her and she even asked me to put glitter on her arms! Naturally, throughout the course of the day, glitter got EVERYWHERE! The school is going to be cleaning up glitter for the next five years! In conclusion, I basically felt like Carrie Fisher all day and it was the best day of my life! I feel like it's important to make people aware of Sanderson's homophobic past. Most other Sanderson fans tend to be like "but he's changed!!! He put gay people in his books". I simply believe that's sort of not entirely true. He has changed from being as homophobic as he used to be but he's not suddenly a great ally. He has put gay characters in his books, but if you are going to tell people that you also should tell them that these characters are very minor characters (most people hate being told there's gay rep and then the character is barely present) . Also, don't act like people who dislike him for his homophobic past are wrong because he's changed or whatever. Sometimes there are consequences to your actions even if you regret them.
