A set of tasters at Maui Brewing Company in Kihei, HI. Clockwise from top left, Mosaic Mo’Betta IPA (a 4 of 4), Double Overhead Double IPA (3), Pueo Pale Ale (3), Haleakala Sunryes Rye IPA (3), Makawao Hoppy Wheat (3), and Shave Weisse (3). All good, but given I grabbed all the hoppier offerings in a single taster set, they somewhat blend together in my notes and memory, even with water and the berliner weisse between to cut them apart. Simply, the mosaic in the Mo’Betta is incredibly bright and refreshing, and has more complexity than I’ve had in many other mosaic IPAs. It’s simply gushing with tropical fruit. All the other beers are good and pretty much exactly as billed. Definitely worth a visit if you are on Maui!
