I’m not eager to start anything, but this thought has crossed my mind and i thought i would put it out for possibly discussion.  not even sure if i have a point... 

when Anna is raped, Mrs. Hughes is very quick to tell her on more than one occasion, i think, that is is not her fault. at all.  and it wasn’t her fault.  so we’re all good.

but when Thomas basically forces himself on Jimmy, Mrs. Hughes says that Jimmy might have brought it on himself.  

i’m sure most people would say it’s totally different, but is it?  and if it is, explain please?
