I was just randomly trying to figure out where the hell Amestris and the other fma countries are geographically in the 99% snipers world, then I remembered about how apparently most of the divide is over the ocean and my brain just went 'Atlantis. Amestris is a part of Atlantis' and I cant fucking stop thinking about that
FUCK
I love your work! Could you do 13 or 35 for zimbits?
Okay so I have no reason this took me so much longer than the others than I had a wild time figuring out I don’t know how to write zimbits? So sorry for that, but here’s 35 for them, and hopefully it’s decent.
The library was calming and peaceful, so long as you ignored the old bloodstains on the floor.
When I write, sometimes I have to rapidly switch tenses to fit what's going on, but I've been told that's wrong by a bunch of people, so I'm not sure what to do. Any thoughts?
The go-to tense in most stories is past tense. So everything would just be more in the past.
But if you decide to write your story in present or future tense, stuff can be mixed up royally.
A tense-shift is what a lot of people call it. That’s what happens when your verbs don’t agree. Kind of like…
I walked to the store and bought milk. (Fully past)
vs
I walk to the store and bought milk. (Mix)
vs
I walk to the store and buy milk. (Fully present)
You wanna make sure everything agrees! If it doesn’t, it can start to sound like there’s past events that you’ve got to keep track of that didn’t make the cut into the story.
I’d say, do some editing if you need to. Read over it all and decide what tense to place it in and adjust accordingly.
Good luck!
Another ask for Stellar Black: when Riore gets the memories of the Chosen One, does she also get the personality and maybe a the Chosen Ones voice in her head that interacts with her? And will we get POV of the Chosen One?
There’s never a chosen one voice or anything, but Riore has to deal with things like the personality, beliefs, and morals of the Chosen One seeping into her. We’re made by what’s happened in our lives, and Riore gets affected by both her true memories and Antika’s (the chosen one!) memories.
I don’t think I’ll ever put in a POV chapter of Antika’s, but I may drabble out some stuff about her/her journey for fun!
Stellar Black Q&A!
For the Stellar Black q&A, would you say it’s more fantasy of sci-fi? Cause I see a space setting and automatically think sci-fi but you mentioned magic.
It’s very in between, but depending on what I do, it may lean to one or the other.
There’s magic, and there’s science & space!
It probably depends on your interpretation of sci-fi and fantasy genres.
I want to do my best to incorporate both of the genres and their respective traits together!
Stellar Black Q&A!
The wind howled around the house. Something howled back.
