I read your douwata fix on ao3 today and then I went through your douwata tag and lemme just say i love you, all of your opinions, and i am also crying and begging clamp to fix this

i’ve read these pages like 5 times and i’m so overcome. i can’t figure out if i’m so far into this labrynthine douwata hellscape lodge that i’ve built for myself that i’ve lost touch with reality or if this really is as second-act-of-the-world’s-saddest-romcom as i think it is

my feelings are that i was robbed and i’m gonna call the police

all kidding aside tho: i am a sucker for slightly antagonistic will-they-or-won’t-they relationships, so of course i love theirs. i like the ways in they complement each other, and the ways that they rub each other the wrong way. i like that they don’t fit neatly and that their peace was hard won and negotiated every day. i like that they don’t always like each other.

their feelings about each other are complicated and nebulous and even painful sometimes, and they don’t ever, ever talk about them. they purposefully stopped whatever they could’ve had cold in its tracks. knowingly, deliberately didn’t pursue it, because there was no future and no unselfish reasons, but didn’t cut ties either. stayed together. an almost-never-was, causing me to roll on the floor suffering forever

Their ringtones for each other: doumeki’s for watanuki is “cat yowling, all night every night.” watanuki’s for doumeki is actually just  the standard ring, but he’s in his phone as “the super idiot” so

Their FB relationship status: for like the first six months, it’s complicated. or in their case, “we’re together OKAY but we have no frickin idea what we’re doing lmao”

Whether they are addicted to couples selfies: no. there are like 5 pictures that exist on this entire earth of them together and they look like they might be a couple in two of those. (of course that’s just the pictures they know about. in reality himawari has about a thousand cute candids that she is saving for a special occasion)

Which of their friends is over-joyed shipper trash that they are together: yuuko laughs for an hour when watanuki tells her they’re together and then vows to bankroll the wedding. when they tell himawari she smiles so brightly that watanuki nearly passes out and grabs both their hands and squeezes and exclaims loudly that she always knew they got along well!!!!! then she takes a thousand candid pictures of them

Who overshares intimate relationship details: watanuki will when he’s distracted and gets on a roll about something. himawari will stop him, like haha watanuki-kun let’s not talk about your sex life, but yuuko laps it up. encourages it even. occasionally will bring up the less salacious information when doumeki’s around, just so she can watch him fail to react at all and watanuki dramatically overreact 

Who steals the other’s clothes: watanuki steals doumeki’s. classic boyfriend loot, big shirts and stuff. he’s very defensive about it in the beginning, but eventually he comes to terms with the fact that he likes the way doumeki smells 

Who’s the PDA fan: ah, neither. doumeki’s not demonstrative in that particular way and it just makes watanuki embarrassed. the most they’ll do in public is hold hands (and kiss, once in a blue moon)

Who proposes: doumeki, but it’s so low-key that watanuki almost doesn’t realize it’s happening. and then when he does he stops the proceedings and makes doumeki replay the scene (”with better dialogue, honestly, you’d think you’d never read a book or seen a movie in your entire life”) so that he can remember it properly
