Long-billed Dowitchers and Stilt Sandpipers Limnodromus scolopaceus and Calidris himantopus
2/11/2024 Sonny Bono Salton Sea National Wildlife Refuge, California
Most of the birds in this photo are (presumed long-billed) dowitchers, which have that white saddle patch on their back. Mixed in are some stilt sandpipers, which are slightly smaller than the dowitchers and have a mostly white tail with a dark terminal band and shorter bills.

It's a rather long bill, if you ask me. I tend to accidentally poke others on public transportation.
