every day they hide more information in the cracks between tiles on the floor. such as, for instance, types and amount of grease dropped on the floor, types and amount of dust in the air, origins of that dust, genetic information of humans whose hair and skin constitutes that dust, ancestry information of those humans, evolutionary history of humanity up to the present day, general conditions of earth for the past few billion years, the very laws of physics themselves as they exist and have existed, even in high energy contexts, any hidden nature of reality that we don't know about yet,,,, type of grout used, etc.

Souls to Hear by Albatros_assoiffe (M, 40k, Ch. 24/24)
“Brienne, you are a bad liar. Tell me the truth.”
The truth. That she failed him. Failed Lady Catelyn. Failed Renly. That her honor was slipping out of her, like the blood Stoneheart thirsted for, pooling out of Jaime’s severed neck. Like the tears she could no longer contain. Brienne turned away from Jaime and wiped them away, embarrassed, but they did not stop.
“Brienne, what happened? Tell me.”
Picks up Jaime and Brienne's story immediately after Jaime's chapter in ADWD.
The Opinions of Sheep by winterkill (E, 79k, Ch. 40/40)
Before he returned to Tarth, her father placed his large, weathered hands on her shoulders. “They’ll try and discourage you,” he said, “but you’re my daughter, so you won’t let them succeed.”
Brienne of Tarth is the first girl to enroll in the King's Landing Knight Academy and, due to Tywin Lannister's influence, ends up Jaime Lannister's squire in an attempt to embarrass him into quitting the Kingsguard. It does not go as planned. A Tamora Pierce's Protector of the Small fusion.
Swan of Tarth by laserisanacronym (MarquesGillette) (E, 52k, Ch. 8/8)

breath and bone by jencat (M, 12k, Ch. 5/5)
"You could just come home," Selwyn offers, although they both know how this conversation goes. "Your room's still made up."
"Too many stairs," Brienne says, tiredly. Home on Tarth is a tall, vague shadow on the other side of the headland, a well-worn path away. Close, but not too close. The key clicks into the lock of her grandmother's front door and she shifts her weight against her bag; balances the cane with her other hand. She thinks she should be used to this by now. "Someone needs to be here for the animals, don't they?"
Her dad sighs; shoulders the door up over the point where it always catches. "I don't know why she won't let me fix this. The neighbour's been feeding them. That mainlander."

Brienne comes home to say goodbye to her grandmother, and has an unexpected encounter.
The Tides by slipsthrufingers (M, 42k, Ch. 10/10)

the perfect knight by djelibeybi (T, 14k. Ch. 7/7)
After hearing worrying rumours about his daughter, Lord Selwyn Tarth wants Brienne home and married. He does not expect her to arrive with the Kingslayer.
my lady love by EverythingsAvengers (E, 4k, Ch. 1/1)
“Don’t got two rooms,” the old woman is saying to his travel companion. “Don’t got two beds!”
“What do you have?” Brienne asks the innkeep as Jaime plops down in the seat across from her.
She frowns, “well, there’s the attic room. Only one bed though and barely a window. Gets dreadfully cold up there in the winters and cooks ya in the summers—”
“We’ll take it,” Brienne interrupts.
One Last Harvest by vitaminkenjoyer (NR, 41k, Ch. 3/3)
Brienne reached for her cup, taking a sip. "I'm not glum."
"You certainly are. Do you revel on the occasion by flagellating yourself, my lady?"
She lowered her cup, eyes narrowing. She looked like a great freckled bull with her nostrils flaring. "I don't revel, ser."
Featuring: Brienne's nameday in The Vale, a play, a struggle against despair, confessions, and Sandor Clegane living his best life.
Try a Little Tenderness by dreadwulf (M, 17k, Ch. 4/4)
After The Kingslayer collapses in the baths at Harrenhal, Brienne has to wash and dress him for dinner with Lord Bolton. She is in no way suited to this task, but she does her best to care for him until he’s back on his feet. Perhaps one day he can return the favor.
lover boy. by SeeThemFlying (M, 31k, Ch. 12/12)
Brienne is at the fabulously beautiful five-star Cinnamon Wind hotel in the Summer Isles, just outside of Tall Trees Town. She's lying on a deckchair by the eternity pool that overlooks the beach, wearing nothing but a sensible swimming costume, a shawl to stop her shoulders burning, reasonably priced sunglasses, and a big floppy hat Margaery bought her.
She comes down here most mornings just after sunrise to make use of the cool temperatures and read a chapter of her book, which is a very interesting exploration of maternal grief and the psychological impact of...
Oh, what the hells. She comes down here every morning to look at *him*.
A Love to Last by cardinalgirl75 (E, 82k, Ch. 9/9)
Two strangers meet in a bar, have a few drinks, and wake up married the next morning.
That's just the beginning of their story.
Afraid of Diving In by pearly_rose (E, 18k, Ch. 4/4)
The Isle of Tarth was a summer haven for the Westerosi elite. It was a place of sprawling estates and private beaches, drawing families like the Lannisters back to its shores every year with the promise of a few months filled with sun and relaxation. For locals like Brienne, the island was the only home she'd ever known, and working for one of those wealthy families was how her father earned a living. It was also how she first met Jaime Lannister.
At the Water's Edge by winterkill (M, 43k, Ch. 18/18)
"When Brienne sleeps with the book of folktales under her pillow, she dreams of swimming in the loch. The kelpie is there--golden mane glinting in the shafts of sunlight filtering through the water. It swims towards her as though bounding across a field, ethereal and otherworldly. I should be dead, her dream-self wants to say, only of course she can’t speak underwater. It’s incorrect enough that she can breath.
Galladon died, and I lived. But why?"
Brienne dreams of a kelpie who saved her from drowning when she was a girl. What she doesn't expect is for a naked man to walk out of the same lake over a decade later.
Weekend at Casterly by green_light (T, 26k, Ch. 1/1)
Jaime said, “We should withdraw from Westeros entirely, Brienne. Let’s leave this place and go to Volantis. We’ve played along with society long enough, but good gods, it isn’t for us.”
