@headcanon-send-by-cyberlife you inspired this one last night!
On slow days, somehow the past time at the DPD became Dress The Android. It consisted of everyone crowding around one terminal and pulling up clothing websites they thought Connor would like as a deviant. Almost always, they ended up on various formal wear sites, debating whether Connor would go for a double-breasted suit or a three piece suit. No matter what though, the consensus was that Connor would always, without fail, wear a white shirt.
Only one person seemed to be rebelling against the concept though. Whenever it was Gavin’s turn, he pulled up the most ridiculous sites possible, from Hot Topic to Cyberdog, he always strove to find the strangest things.
In the end, it became a battle of wills. Two terminals next to each other, both running a dress simulator with Connor’s face. Gavin and Chris were sat at a screen each, devising an outfit while everybody else was commenting and giving their thoughts.
In the end, Chris had assembled a very respectable outfit for Connor, a sleek, dark blue suit jacket with a classic white shirt, no tie. It was paired with some stylish suit trousers that matched the jacket. By contrast, on Gavin’s screen was Connor in a pair of wide legged, baggy cargo pants with lots of pockets, paired with a crop top with the word “bitch” printed in elegant cursive across the chest.
Unanimously, people voted for Chris’ creation. Even Tina patted Gavin on the shoulder in commiseration before betraying him.
“Hey Connor,” Gavin called him over from his desk. “We want to buy you an outfit but can’t decide which you’d like more.”
Turning to the others, he grinned. “If I lose, I’ll buy him the suit. If I win, you buy this outfit.”
They shook hands on it and waited for Connor to approach. He looked over the two screens, LED spinning yellow. It then span red and people were looking at him eagerly, awaiting the verdict and prepared to laugh at Gavin.
“That one.” Connor pointed at Gavin’s screen. “The suit is too reminiscent of my CyberLife uniform, unimaginative and restrictive. I would rather showcase my unique identity in the outfit on the right. Only an obedient machine would think a white shirt and dress pants look nice.”
Verdict given, he wandered off while Gavin hooted into the stunned silence. However, three days later, a package showed up on Connor’s desk and by the afternoon, he was proudly working in a crop top with the word “bitch” printed across it.
