Deltarune Chapter 2 Notes While I Played (BIG SPOILERS)

Wow, been forever since I really used tumblr... But uh, figured I’d copy/paste notes I took in Notepad while I was playing. Just random thoughts and observations. Probably already stuff discovered by others by now, but just in case some wasn’t known, I’ll just toss this up here.

PLEASE NOTE: My feelings on some things will VERY likely change over time as things come into perspective, may be totally different by the time you read this, so plz don’t judge me too harshly, hhhhh.... It’s almost all just off the top of my very foggy and out-of-it head. (><;;)

PLAYTHROUGH: All recruits/true pacifist (though I may have hit cars in the driving section). Mostly tried to keep characters happy in my dialogue (but accidentally hit Noelle with mice more than once so she thought it was on purpose but really I didn’t mean toooo...)

I did a LOT of backtracking after each major event, to see if things changed, all the way back to Cyber Fields several times, and there was always at least one change in dialogue, NPC presence, etc. But, I didn’t write it all down sadly. And some notes are a little out-of-order as I remembered things but not exactly when I had observed them, so I tried to be approximate at least.

I bolded major revelations, clues, and things to keep in mind. More minor things but still of interest, like some amusing dialogue most people might not find in a standard playthrough and stuff, are in italics. Or something like that, I think I messed up along the way lol oh well I gotta submit this beast.

NOTES UNDER THE CUT:

Haha wow, not sure how much was Toby's original idea vs taken from the fandom:

-Kris eating the pie with that knife, lol. -Noelle bringing more chalk for Susie to eat! XD -Kris having a glint of red eye as they fell. Before was possibly a trick of the light... but this time definite! :O -(Later) Noelle having hooves. :3

-Maybe the Japanese-sounding word that the rabbick says outside in town? "Sukkiri~..." Might look it up sometime?

Man, between that "how to draw dragons" book with the sexy cover, and the cat petting simulator... Asriel seems like he's uh, interested in, stuff. ^^;;

Or well, could Catty & Catti’s names be on there because it's their game and he was borrowing it? Or did he write that on there to pretend it’s them? Uhhh...

(Addendum: Phew, well it seems that the cat girls love media about petting cats, going to a movie called Cat Petters 2 or something, etc. So yeah, maybe it WAS just their game and he’s borrowing it or something.)

The honking car horns in the traffic jam include a bit of the dog-song. :D

I love that many of our concerns were addressed by the characters:

-On Toriel’s desktop wallpaper photo: Asriel using the knockoff controller, so it's not that Kris was sidelined as much as we thought. -Toriel worried about Kris, so she's not completely oblivious about them. -Their pronouns very explicitly stated this time, very often, so there's no doubt. :D (Later: Napstablook’s too!) -Opinions that Ralsei looked cuter before, when he looked more fluffy in shadow. (If only his ears or cheeks were still more visibly fluffy... but that's ok I still love you bb!)

-(Much later, Light world ending: That Toriel is actually not outwardly mean to Asgore, and in fact was quite submissive in how she tried to avoid him. So that infamous anger of hers is NOT how she always feels toward him.) -(And also, she’s not anywhere near as uptight and fussy as she first seemed to be in Chapter 1. She’s concerned for Kris, kind to Susie, and full of good humor. So that’s a relief.)

-Spade King says his threat to Lancer was a ruse. And that even if he threw him, he would just bounce. “Bouncy little pumpkin.” So, maybe he wouldn’t have harmed him... though, hard to tell with the devious influence of The Knight. Remember, the throne room was definitely torn through in a massive struggle. So, I still think he loves his kid, but was manipulated into evil. But everyone’s entitled to have their own theories and feelings about that.

In the Dark World, the challenge dojo guy talking about the hole said it was "dark, yet darker" until we filled it! :O

Heh, the "real gamer" vs "mobile gamer" debate. They're both fine of course, but with Berdly's limited world view, as a parody of The Gamer, his disappointment is funny. XD

Music is sooo gooood omg!

Oh! Trying to remember to keep on checking on Lancer in the Key Items menu! After many events, he has things to say about each of them! Like the Papyrus phonecalls in a way. :D

My teacup ride took me to floor 69. I expected it to say "Nice" when I poked the floor number sign, but alas it was silent. ;P

City slicker plug eventually likes life in the country. Good for you~!

Hehe, Susie messed with Ralsei's cyberpedia entry about losing recruits. "susie rules and ralsay drools!" XD

Messing around in the car area, I got to a hidden-away area, where Toby ran me over and killed me in his Little Tykes Cozy Coupe! Then he killed my death! And I was rewarded with moss for Kris and Susie to eat! XD

"There's a door in the middle or inbetween or something." Intriguing. I keep trying in-between formations, screens, etc for doors. (But I accidentally stumbled upon that online; the dog-marked wall and moss room are similar to the one in Ch 1, where you go back and forth over and over, until a new hallway appears, and you go find the man and the tree again. Now got "the egg". Wonder what happens to the one in the fridge if we go back to Ch 1 maybeeee? If possible??? I dunno how the chapters may interact if I start over at 1 after carrying stuff over into 2. o.o)

(I don’t remember if I saved after I put my egg in Asgore’s fridge in Ch 1 or not... or if I even saved after beating Jevil. I don’t have his item. Uhhh... whoops. Guess we’ll see what’s done with these conditions...)

Also found the giant toilet-shaped toilet around there! XD

I forget how to get back to the Toby and Toilet rooms now. (Are they the same?)

(Found toilet room again... Maybe that was the Toby car room and it’s now blocked.?)

OMG the Queen is hilarious! I LOVE HER!!!

Kris get the banana. Potassium. LMAO!

I gave him the present at the gallery games, and uh it had nipples! XDDDDD

LANCER WTF THAT FACE AND PANTS-HOLE NOOOOO!!! XDDDDDDD

Backtracking, or re-loading rooms after events, sometimes has different comments by characters, even several layers of events back.

When Lancer got petrified, I pushed him all the way back to the dining room, and he got a seat at the table and spaghetti dropped from the ceiling in front of him! XD It said it seems he's being well taken care of! XDDD

Later going through, the spaghetti was gone, plate still there and he was otherwise the same, including "well taken care of." Interesting! Did he osmose the spaghetti? Or was that developer oversight?

I went back and won the Checks Quest, backtracking now lets the hacker be seen elsewhere. Not sure how far back/forward but I encountered him a few times, like in Cyber City (talking about how he couldn’t give his signature to buy stuff), etc. He clued me in on which mansion room to look for the secret doorway switch in. :D

Going to the very first Cyber Fields save point, says we’re filled with the power of pointless backtracking. And going back to Cyber City’s save point by the cat sign with Susie and Ralsei in the party, replaces the cat that previously filled us with power, with that of fluffy boys and mean girls (but that the cat sign still powers us by a tiny percentage). Hehe!

Found the Big Shot Spamguy, then his shop (well hidden in trash place). He ripped me off, sold mostly junk, lol (though at least you can lock in lower prices for his stuff.)

Oh, and backtracking to talk to the various shop owners (as in, shoe sellers, mannequin seller, etc) in the cyber sale area, they kept saying they never heard of Spamton, or that they don't talk about him now. I did moderate asking around but only so much of that happened. Still interesting that he was mentioned. Seems like a "big shot" to me ;D

In Town, there's a sidepath with a treasure (I forget what it was, hind-sight adding this. Tension Bit maybe?). And poster for "Queen Clean product" Where her quote on it is, "I Don't Know What This Does!" LOL

I still don't know what the mannequin does, I can have it as armor on Kris only, with a mysterious effect. Hmmmm???? I'm keeping it on even though there's much better armor available cuz I wanna find ouuuut! But ugh I get hurt a lot!

-”Friend” in yellow text while talking to Spammy Guy again. He mentions Mike? Disturbing stuff... pleading for help behind his static eyes... Whoah...

But the keygen worked. And now I'm at the creepy place and am really having trouble controlling the teacups on the way back up aaaaaaaahhhh!

Neat dungeon game type Game Over screen/music though. Unique.

Phew, cup ride easier with crosspad (using XBox controller).

Hacker retired, heh.

LOL backtracked to room with lots of vases, and Susie automatically ran around and kicked each one to pieces! XD

Oh I've been forgetting to check their ability/status screens... Kris is a Lv 2 Moss-Finder, Susie a Moss-Enjoyer (we found and ate it together! XD)

Duuuude I beat NEO Big Shot guy! :D Fun cool hard fight, but even though I suck I was able to do it, woooo!

Jeez, I had Kris say they weren't ok, so they were "yelling." (I’m surprised there was no animation or indication of it...) Ralsei offered comforting presence. Kinda wish he'd hugged them but maybe they didn't seem to want that? ... Wow though... (But yeah, it seems like maybe Toby and his team didn’t put as much work into this part of the game as could have been. Unless they really wanted to leave it up to our imagination?)

Kris can relate so much to Spamton’s feelings. Like a puppet being driven against their will. Seemed like knowing things you shouldn’t was also a bonding point with Jevil. Dang, these poor insane bosses are seeming to resonate with Kris, and us...

And about being “a heart on a chain.” Like a locket. Makes me think of Undertale...

I do wish the armor would have raw boost stats, not just 'relative to what you have now' cuz I just can't make sense of it without lots of juggling...

I backtracked to Cyber City, and the shop NPCs were all gone. Someone said they have gone to the garbage area (Hmmm, that's two out of two Toby Fox games with such an area...). At one now unoccupied storefront, an enemy NPC was peaceful, they said they wanted to steal stuff from the untended shops, but it's so crappy they'd get ripped off even if they got it for free. XD

So, got to the trash dump. The NPCs are here, either faceless or facing the wall. They gave a lot backstory on Spamton. Turns out when he... left... the phone was off the hook, and all that came through was the same noise described on our Gaster Phone! :O (I listened to it in front of them, talked to them again, no change.)

Did I forget something? Uhhhh I dunno spent so much time maxing my gear, after wearing the darn mannequin (which I guess may be why I did so well against Spamton? I figured it was crazy enough a chance. Then later looked it up and yeah, I made the right call, lol!)

Swatch in the shop mentioned the robot in Talk this time, after defeating Spamton Neo, and said he helped create it, so it was probably was designed on a computer, and he was the art program/app the mentioned Lightner used. But the image/design was discarded (or corrupted) despite being so full of hopes and dreams. Uhhh so like, still might be connected to Mettaton, as in, a body he was designing, or that someone was helping design for him...

THIS IS INTERESTING THOUGH (and I’ll post about this separately)... When you check on Asriel’s computer at the beginning of Chapter 2, it says there’s artwork there of a form with rainbow wings, firing lasers everywhere, etc. But that nothing ever came of it.

Now, that sounds like the design for his boss form in Undertale, since that was basically how he liked to imagine himself if he could be powerful, or an OC of his, etc.

BUT... The same description with rainbow wings can also describe Mettaton Neo’s design! And, the version in the basement that Spamton uses!

And who is associated with “Hopes and Dreams” in Undertale? Asriel!

SO... It’s possible that Asriel had met Mettaton (Happstablook?), felt sorry for how he feels like a nobody, and so tried to fulfill the ghost’s hopes and dreams, by designing a super cool flashy robot body for him!

But then, perhaps because of real world limitations, it never got past the design stage. The hopes that had gone into it faded away. And so, the project was set aside, as only an idea. Or, perhaps, the file got corrupted, and so the two lost their creative momentum and abandoned it.

Also, with the internet down, maybe it was stored in online storage, or on a proprietary cloud editor, so it’s inaccessible until the net is fixed?

And I thought in the battle music, it sounded a lot like pieces of other songs were in there all scrambled. Maybe Ghost Fight and Power of Neo? Maybe other things? Certain piano part near the end of one song sounds familiar...

I'll look into this later...

I tried sitting in his empty shop screen for a long time. Some creepy harmonies in the music after a few repetitions, but otherwise nothing thus far. Moving d-pad around did nothing. Listening to phone in front of the door did nothing. (I’ll look into how the song sounds if it’s played at faster speed...)

Lots of back-tracking, to see if the Spamton fight unlocked anymore changed states. So many of these have changed over time, I most likely missed a lot but I'm also finding a lot! :D

Tried a loooong time to get the egg room to appear again, but it wouldn't. Dunno if cuz I got egg already, or from defeating Spamington...

OMG Backtracking through Queen's castle, Hacker was trying to decode the light puzzle, lol. The machine at the top said that the previous rooms had been unceremoniously removed by a giant hand. Apologizing for the inconvenience and 'kinda hoping' nobody was in there. ^^;;

Then thanks to the shorter way back due to that.... I got back to the rooms we had been trapped in (personalized with our searches... LOL, I love how it pokes fun of algorithms and how the corpos that use them THINK they can gauge our interests accurately with our searching & surfing activities [along with some of the Queen’s dialogue doing the same, about how we must love traffic since we “look it up all the time”, lol!]). I had already backtracked there soon after we escaped originally (and checked out my and Susie’s rooms with hilarious results).

Susie said we best hope she never meets Asriel (uhh... I really am concerned about that, like what's bad about him? Nerdy so he’d be easy to pick on? Or is it cuz he likes sexy dragons...?), (ahem...)

...But this time, a Swatch NPC revealed that one of the rooms had been Spamington's. He said that he didn't use his room after a while, kept going down to the basement and praying. Said he had become obsessed with "that artifact." That maybe he thought it'd give him his 'big break'. :'(

...Heh, hotel and mint joke. Another Undertale nod.

BUG: Dang, when using Spaghetti Code during Mousewheel fight, when Tasque Manager came and took it from there, it caused me to use it without getting the heal from it. :(

LOL the dog stuff with the platters. XD

In the room with platter UFOs, I went crazy enough to set them all off, lol! Then going back, a platter cover was back over one of the plates, and it gave me a treasure chest with a glowshard in it! :O

To the left of the anti-backtracking bookshelf (where Susie left with Berdly), is "the birth of a fountain" in a projector room. Interesting, once again the Knight is responsible for these popping up.

(How is that bad? Darkness gives them life right? Hard to figure out...)

LOL Berdly statue is in the ‘bathroom’. "No problem here." Come out, person asks "When are they going to be done in there?"

Dang on the river "Get the banana" kept me from turning all the little house's roofs blue. Oh well... someday I'll find out what that does. Guess you have to hit at a certain angle, sideways worked for other ones though... (missed a second one later too)

Poke giant hand, Ralsei says it'd be nice to be petted by a hand so big. Awww... :3

LOL Swatch doing "a little house cleaning" XD Vase puzzle, breaks, he starts to attack, then says they can let it go just this once. XD

By tiny castle, got Revive Dust.

Moving out from Kris/Ralsei to watch Susie and Noelle (so cuuute! I loved this! X33333 They’re adorkable! But gosh, such sadness too... imagining Noelle flying over the city is so melancholy but beautiful... ;_; And eerily a bit implying suicidal thoughts. Jumping out the window, then flying as an angel... :(...)

...Then back to Kris/Ralsei again, to the Prince saying, "So that's why..." (Again like in Chapter 1!) I still wonder if Ralsei perhaps uses these moments to talk to the real Kris? After all, it basically takes us (the red soul) away to control Susie and/or dialogue. So, we’re gone, and don’t get to hear their discussions. :x

Went back after Susie returned, and by the edge of the acid, we got Kris & Ralsei’s photo where I totally had Kris hug him. :3 (Wish we could see but well, we could always draw~!)

Oh yeah, the house and mouse puzzle.... I thought I had to keep them FROM getting the treasure so I could get it, so I prevented the second one... but can't seem to get it now. :(

But backtracking (after 2nd bookshelf back to Legs Save Point), I talked once again to the mouse with a wig and they were like "What have you done?! You gave the mice $1 at that one puzzle. Now they're ALL going to be getting wigs!" (Paraphrased)

Now I wonder what’d happen if I gave the mice the second treasure. Maybe they’d give it to me afterwards?

Room that was closed, then opened, now again barred saying "Closed due to haters."

Back to acid lake, examine handle. “Pulling this lever released a floating swan. You think about releasing a ton of swans to clog up the river.” Ralsei: "Aww, are they reminiscing about our ride?"

Werewerewire! Like... they WERE with a wire but now they're not? ^^;;

Went in Noelle's room with Susie and Ralsei. LOL, stole the Susie statue, the Ice-Esquatch, tried to sleep and Susie was like "what if she has ticks?! Get outta there!" XD

Fought queen with Berdly plugged. Lots of lols, but also good points with how the internet gives us so much happiness, socializing, information... but also a reminder that drama online turns things ugly, creating arguments and stress. The duality of this resource... :(

Poor Noelle... sounds like she searched very sad stuff, probably involving her grief over her late sister, and worried about her father... :( Maybe trying to google for cures or treatments, or answers... I can relate...

Heh, backtracked after defeating the Queen, Susie appeared back in the party. Talking to Berdly more, OMD he made a Zelda CDI reference, "How about a kiss, for luck?" and other fun stuff. "Her dere is tsun to my ears.” LOL! XD (Shouldn’t it be the other way around? Oh well)

Back past where platters were, found extremely stacked tables (and hamster water thing haha). “The Supreme Table. You won't be able to use this without the Throne of the Gods.”

(LOL oh yeah and on the teacups, Susie drinking the tea or hot chocolate FTW! XD)

I wonder what the noise might really be, in trash area, or other slow scary areas...? Probably just background traffic but should look into that too...

Revisited Ferris wheel advertisement in town. First, it says the usual thing. But then, Ralsei thinks Susie must be thinking about her ride on it with Noelle. But Susie's like: "What the hell is a Ferris? Some kind of tank with giant wheels?" (Only triggers once. After that, just the same first line of text. Not sure if oversight or on purpose.)

Oh! Back in Cyberfields, everything else seems the same, felt discouraged about going back so far for nothing this time... but south of the warp door, the camera from the stream is there! Inspecting it says it must be broken. Hmmm..... Wonder if this will ever lead to something or not, cuz that’s such a random place for the camera to end up.

(Kinda sad the photo it took on the acid stream isn’t in our items.)

In Mansion, two enemy NPCs running in a circle... Tasque who is leaving paw-prints all over... followed by a Swatch who is sweeping them up. XD

Queen talking about the Knight. They “roared,” had a long arm/giant hand, and thrust a blade (knife) into the earth to create a dark fountain! :O

Now she mentions Determination, first time in this game I think. That any Lightner has it though, at least she thinks so. Including monsters.

That anyone determined enough could make a dark fountain.

Queen does have giant hands around a lot. On the acid river, Noelle being tied to one, mentioned as what swept away previous light puzzle rooms, etc. Something to keep in mind over time. (Though she does NOT know what the Knight’s dark motives may be, so not sure if that’s a connection or coincidence...)

"Bro just let me karate chop you and you can have as many (things) you want!" That can totally be a meme. LOL the Queen teabagged me when I lost (complete with squeaky sound effects XDDDD)

SMALL BUG: I made it to Round 3 in Giga Queen fight, then lost. I tried again, and it said it was Round 3 in the dialogue box and that her attacks got extreme. But then I noticed the next round said it was Round 2, and now the dialogue box also says it's Round 2. So, I think it accidentally carries text over from last time instead of reloading it, but then the next round increment refreshes it so it properly synchronizes again.

We're worthy opponents. Worthy for my machine to realize its true purpose: To get our own ass thrashed! D: but :D

Man, Ralsei had a dark moment telling about the giants or whatever! :O Wonder why the fountains would cause that... They had what looks like Determination star faces!

So Kris sealed the fountain... once again without a Darkner there, huh...

Just a dream, but uhhhh WHY CAN'T SUSIE LET NOELLE KNOW THAT THEY WERE ALL THERE!!!???? WHY CAN'T SHE LET NOELLE IN ON THE DARK WORLD ADVENTURES?!?! :(

Looking at computer lab stuff, the posters change if you look at them twice. "You suddenly thought about how your day might have been different... If the poster with that orange cat was still on the wall."

(The classic “Hang In There” cat? Or Garfield? About not being immune to propaganda? One in Cyber World that filled you with power before? idk!)

We can go upstairs in the librar(b)y now! (The diary downstairs is updated btw, oh no, it got high-rated reviews written about it! XD)

"How to Care for Humans." Toriel checked it out a lot. Kris seemed freaked out by the faces of unfamiliar people inside the book, shutting it quickly! o.o (It does indeed SEEM like Kris might be the only human, at very least in this town... but what about the world? :x)

"The soul has been called many things. The FONT of our compassion. The source of our will. The container of our 'life force.' etc..."

Monster there: "I love reading books. Especially the books upstairs." Talk again: "I love reading. Especially books." Hehe

Heh, Susie has some comments in the library if you go back in with her, such as tasting the “flavor text”. No comment about the upstairs books though.

Tem is in the school! Her dreams, colleg.... then she gets a serious vocabulary aadajfhdsfjhs!!!

Then she sets an egg on the desk. It says: (The eggs you have collected so far. There's 1.) I forgot to save after I got the other one, I Thiiiiink??? I thought I got it and gave it to Asgore but maybe that was another file slot??? Whoah!

The crystal thing I got says it's glass in the Light World. But described: "It feels like glass, but..."

In computer lab, Kris is like, trash can't have friends, odd thought. Dark world? Trashy's like oh boy, I'll make lots of friends! XD

Whoah, Queen and King know each other, not surprised but... wow... Lancer thinks of her as third dad, heh. But the King... actually looks REALLY mad in his text box. "Materialistic as always" he said of her... She said she treated herself as she deserves, while he slept curled up on a dirty throne. He told her "Enough, wench!" Then seemed to pout while asking what purpose she has here, "Queenie Beanie." :O

She goes "Just thought I would send a message, Kingy Wingy." She'll take care of Lancer. She's his mother, I thought so! ...No she just decided that now, lol. But that's nice of her. He's like, fine. If he cries...(I'll hurt you? wait, no, he says...) Bounce him on the floor like a bouncy ball. (He looks happy... Is that cuz it works? Or is he joking darkly? I dunno though, Lancer DOES seem to like very strange things that others would normally find harmful (there were many examples in Chapter 1 but I can’t remember them right now)... but the Queen interrupted the conversation like she's uncomfortable with that??? So he pouted and hushed, "As you wish."

So... still might be up in the air if he really loves and cares for Lancer despite the Knight’s influence? Or if it's an attempt at justification and Lancer just rolls with how he's treated wrong? Gah I don't knoooow!

But Queenie Beanie seems well suited for his guardian. She wants what’s best for others, even if she can misinterpret things. :3

Rouxls came in saying the Queen has a new “man around town”. King AND Queen were like "Who?" But then he got uncomfortable, said he left his puzzle on, and ran off. Then Queen said "Who was that?" and her visor says "Bro?"

Is the King her bro? (That'd make sense too) Or Rouxls? Or is that just slang cuz she’s puzzled? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS NOW as to what the relationship is between all of them!!!

Oh like... I think I started on a file where I hadn't saved after beating Jevil? Like, I didn't, but then I reloaded the save and did? Or cuz my friend played and beat him but maybe didn't proceed/save so I could do it myself?

Seam in the seap (shop, heh) noticed my dark crystal shard thingy, then was like, "It seems you missed one on your adventures. Did you not defeat that clown? .... Perhaps... You just haven't remembered that you had yet. That's right, as long as you ever defeated that enemy in the past... Then perhaps, even now, that Crystal might turn up somewhere close... Perhaps!"

There was a beep, as it returned to the main menu and Seam began talking about fresh faces in town, etc. Seam knows the Queen, says she's the same as ever. At least the old plushie is feeling warm n fluffy about hope in the air. It’s nice to see Seam seeming (heh) to feel better. :3

(Reminder to readers in case you never noticed, but Seam was referred to without pronouns in Ch 1, with slightly odd wording to make it quite specific. And Toby Fox used they/them in the anniversary stream he did with people from Fangamer, The two co-hosts had used “he” beforehand (like many of us I’m sure), but they quickly changed to neutral after that reminder. ;3 I still try to not use pronouns (some ppl prefer none at all), since Toby may have intended Seam that way, and may have only used “they” as a gentle nudge toward neutrality without getting preachy. But I likely will still make mistakes...)

Doing the Ch 2 All Stars challenge. BUG is still there, where if I heal or use an item after I've clicked to spare a foe, the items/TP get used up, but don't heal. :(

BUG or OVERSIGHT: Whoops, Swatchlings hit Spare condition even if you have queued a move that de-syncs their colors. (I didn't realize their transition would stop when they hit a match the first time; I thought Kris’s command would overshoot the aimed for color, then had Susie there to nudge it back to a match). Oh well... It’d be difficult to reverse a Spareable flag back to Unspareable, probably. So it’s not too important, just something to keep in mind.

Hmm... thinking about it, Gerson WAS meta-aware that he could be a shopkeeper and safely not be killed in the G-Route of Undertale, and definitely had a big presence in this town in DR... Wonder if there may be any connections there...

...Just realized “Gerson” is an anagram of “Goners!” O_O ...Let’s keep an eye on this too...)

Awww, Asriel confessed to Father Alvin even though there's no confession in his church’s religion (ala Catholicism, which I grew up with). Crying as he confessed to Yoshi-jumping to get over pits in their equivalent of Super Mario World. XD

And I guess Kris would do this “sin” on purpose? Man, they HAVE been a pretty mean child, even if they maybe thought of it as affectionate teasing (...right...?). Pranks in Chapter 1, plus remembering when they were in a ferris wheel with Noelle and made the car rock when they were at the top, scaring her. Heh... Maybe Kris actually wanted the devil horns unironically? ^^;;

Calling Toriel on the cell phone, she's happy for Kris being with a friend again. :3 Calling her again, she’s like “What will your friend think, calling your mother so much? Just hang out with them.” (Paraphrased)

The noisy bunker, Snowy & MK there, trying to dare each other inside. One of them mentions Kris, then Susie stands up to them and scares them off. Asks if Kris is ok, seems they don't want to talk about it. Interestiiiiing...

...Could that be the sound that's gotten Kris weirdly possessed or something? The way the sound may have maddened Jevil & Spamton? o.o

Complain about the police? That’s an odd text choice... “Eye candy”, lol. (Neat that Alphys is definitely still crushing on Undyne, and Undyne MIGHT have a thing for her too? There’s still a chance for themmmm.....). But I guess there's no crime? And the mayor seems to want to do away with them? Weird... Wonder if anything to do with Asgore? Competitive?

Lots of ppl theorized that Noelle's mom is the mayor from before... I still wonder if Asgore & Rudy had a fling together so that's why Toriel divorced him? And maybe that'd be why the mayor wouldn't like Asgore, would have kicked him out, thinking a cheater wouldn’t make a good police chief/personal anger, etc?

Aw jeez... This is like an amplified version of my own childhood... Mom tough on Noelle, her Dad usually helping smooth things over... but can't while in the hospital, all with the worry he may be gone soon leaving Noelle to that harshness all by herself... Jeez... This hits home for me...

(Mom's still trying to help me more now that I'm disabled, to make up for how her strictness messed me up... Even though I was an adult when Dad was in the hospital more and more, his health always had been poor while I was growing up, then the loss was still so big that it's what ultimately led to me developing debilitating fibromyalgia, now learning slowly how to ask for help from my mother, who had raised me NOT to ask for it... She’s slowly learning to GIVE it without making me feel terrible about it, but it’s still an uphill battle...)

...So, for a teen Noelle, who has already lost her dear sister... Jeez... :( I hope her mother can learn to soften up too...

This time the knock bunny is like, humans made of bones? Then where do skeletons come from? (So maybe, the contradictory "full of blood" thing and Susie and others mentioning bleeding, as debated about in Chapter 1... can still mean monsters have those too after all? Dunno....)

Interesting though, that the graveyard has objects buried (wich the gravestones described, but Father Alvin made more clear. Like... do the monsters dust, or even just disappear, so is their dust buried with an object, or AS a symbolic item since nothing is left? Or do they have bodies the way we do, and are just buried with the items? This definitely seems different than Undertale’s rules.

(Seems Father Alvin might wish to have his father's hammer instead of leaving it buried... He mumbled about it when I went to leave. As if maybe he thinks it would do more good out here than in the ground...? Another thing to keep an eye on.)

Also, Susie seemed to interrupt trying to examine the last grave to the right - Shyra (A karaoke microphone for a brave singer, her gravestone said in Ch 1). Wonder if Susie knew her, and doesn’t want it brought up? Or it was just a convenient trigger picked for her “Why’re we hangin’ out in a graveyard?” text?...)

(Toby Fox seems like he really loves Papyrus and wants to share him a lot; his music has been used in trailers and ads for the game, merch, etc a lot, and he’s often the main speaker trying to present the product (if it’s not a random narrator). But fans seemed to gravitate more toward Sans. So... maybe this is a tactic, to make us WANT to see Papyrus, so we can appreciate him more and think about him more longingly? Well it’s working for me... ;w;) I want to see my little boy...

Heh.... they turned around so slowly... Sans even looking away. Oh dear... Well, at least Toriel was civil to him... But wanted to avoid him, kind of submissively, dunno if she even got her eggs or not. So, it doesn't look like she's wrathful. Or maybe just was caught off-guard with Sans there and worried about what their interactions might look like? (She has been shown to be self-conscious in the Alarm Clock dialogs, concerning wearing a mumu and she thought everyone was calling her a cow...)

Aw, Sans gives him free pickles... :3 Oh man, Asgore's trying so hard to get back with her, trying to figure out which flowers will “make her remember how she felt before”. Jeez, he's desperate. Maybe pressuring her too much (especially with how floral her trash keeps smelling)... That's not the best, but I feel sorry for him too.

(Pressuring ppl is bad, but he just seems innocently desperate...)

At least he asks Sans for advice, so he doesn't seem to hold it against him or anything, so no deep jealousy, that’s good.

Suddenly lots of mentions of pickles... First the jar in Ch 1 that the egg sits with, then Kris talking about their cold crispness when cooling down a Swatchling in battle, then the store with Asgore... Now Catti's dad talking about getting served pickles and scared by their shape... (ADDENDUM: And apparently Rudy will mention pickles too if you revisit him after the exchange in Sans’s store?)

OMG Ice Wolf (who ironically now has hotpants and isn't called Billy Hotpants or whatever??? Another fandom promotion?) thinks Ice-E is cuuuute??? LOL you do you I guess. XD

(Aww, Nice Cream Guy is happy that BP, er PizzaPants is happy. Little nod to them having a thing in Undertale fandom. I forget if there was any evidence folks used to ship them, or if it was just a random idea.)

Clam guy talks about "yesterday" and how to meet Onion-san (wait on the circle at the beach). That it's not yesterday anymore, too bad. So yeah, chapter back and forth timeline. He doesn't think Onion-San will come back since he called it weird. I might have too, which made him sink I think? Or did I just watch it somewhere? I dunnoooo.... but yeah, he might be gone from me or just from new chapter?

Ooooh but if you wait long enough, the two sit down together, Susie and Kris, with the wind blowing! :O Nice, serene scene. Then get back up again, I kinda wish they'd stayed longer, I was typing aaaafhdhf

Oh, but then they sat back down again. Maybe cuz I put the window back in focus they stayed like that for quite a while.

Weird, sometimes it lasts moments, other times a minute or more. Guess it alternates? Maybe a bug?

Aww, Toriel's sweet to Susie. Guess she HAD been nice to her in the past. While she knows about her behavior, she's a little concerned about her influencing Kris, but not terribly since she seems to know Susie’s good on the inside. So nice and silly with her. Toriel seems written a lot more lightly and pleasantly than in the first game. Or we at least find out she's not as uptight as we thought. I like that.

Trying to snoop in the bathroom. "No need for that" they all say. Ok going to the sink... Oh. Oh boy. Out that window. (It looked like a delivery metal slat cover, heh. (Oh, Toriel's expression changed quickly before her dialogue a few times, interesting. Dunno if intentional or not but it seems very alive, like, animated. Or maybe she’s hiding a concerned expression with a smile quickly?)

So Kris came back and... put the soul back IN? (Violently) Interesting... Then control returns. (I’m surprised they did that themself... Unless it really is some other entity controlling Kris, instead of the real Kris taking control back from us like so many of us fans think...?)

At shower, one thing I can interact with: (The apple-scented shampoo feels lighter than usual.) Probably Kris uses that one. No comments about window.

I use the phone and call Toriel from the bathroom. "Dreemurr residence. Oh? You wish to speak to Susie? Alright here she is." "KRIS! GET OUT OF THE DAMN BATHROOM!!!" or something, paraphrasing. :D

Calling again: Everybody seems to be too busy to answer the phone. Sink: Your hands are clean.

Came out, auto-walked to Susie. She told Kris hurry up next time, they were almost done. But then Toriel came in, and seemed distracted or worried about something. Then suggests finishing the pie later. Huh... Wonder what's wrong?

The couch is used to being used as a bed, huh? Asgore maybe before he left? ^^;;

Huh, interesting, Susie pretended she'd call her parents, then just happily flopped onto the couch all cool-like. ...Yeah, I'm guessing she doesn't have parents now... or ran away, or they don't care...? :(

Interesting how despite having the soul back, so far Kris is doing everything on their own. Sitting with Susie now. Guess I can pick dialogue at least. I wonder why they haven't watched TV in forever, huh...? Cooking cat on tv, nice. Then a weather cat or horse or dinosaur?

Aww, Susie's so content. ^_^ She wants to share our world with the Darkners. I went along with it, even though they like, can’t since they’re gonna just be toys or whatever. Don't wanna put a damper on her mood.

She's like, Ralsei would become a teacher's pet. Well, as long as he brings Susie an apple... Then she's like "Apple-scented shampoo? No no, I didn't drink it!" (Heh, wonder if that's unique to me checking that)

I need to see what happens when others are chosen for the festival question. I picked her, and she’s like “Well duh! I meant someone else!” then changed the subject from being flustered.

Ooooh! Toriel's calling the police! Says someone was prowling around, and tires were slashed. Was that Kris? :O

Uhhh made a dark fountain! .....Maaaaaybe so they could have their friends come over, like Susie wanted? Totally gonna turn out to be innocent, like Kris was with the knife and the pie last time, right? ^^;;

They stashed the soul under the couch cushion I think, heh. Then pulled it back out, holding it up. I wonder if, to power the fountain? Or if they were gonna put it back in themself again? Can't tell, obscured by smoke. Probably intentional.

Other questions/observations on watching stuff on choices I couldn't revisit:

That white spark that flies off of Kris when they are descending into the Dark World again... Does it happen every time? What could that be?

A tear? some part of them? It reminds me a little of some spark you could find in the Dark World in Ch1, I THINK it unlocks a save point to the Dark World in the future? I forget...

Or reminds me of those sparkles you could touch in Waterfall in Undertale and they'd make a small sound?
