I’ve always been intrigued by Dr. Pretorius’ homunculi. I would have loved to know more about them.
Forgot to mention to you all that I’d been working on a portrait of Ted Sorel (nephew of Jack Pierce!!!!!!) as Dr. Edward Pretorius in From Beyond!
these horror throwdown things sound fun omg!!!! i’m 5’7” and weigh about 200 pounds, my hair is bleached blonde rn and i have blue eyes and pride myself on how vaguely masculine i can look in a vacation shirt. and for fun and if it helps: i think if i were in a horror movie my weapon of choice would be a baseball bat or knitting needles
I throw you down with...
Dr. Edward Pretorius
You decided to vacation in the Ol' Pretorius Fuck House, and he's envious of your rad style. Since he can't go to Goodwill, he decided to just absorb your mind. You both threw the fuck down and you won with your knitting needles. Rip to Crawford but you're different
Do the Universal Monsters count as a fandom?
…They do now.
Character I first fell in love with: While Ardeth Bay in the ‘32 Mummy was interesting, I have to say the first one I got personally attached to is Dr. Jack Griffin.
Character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Dr. Jack Griffin and The Phantom from both the ‘25 and ‘43 versions. I’d add Geoffrey Radcliffe and John Talbot (hey, you didn’t say they all had to be monsters), but I kinda guessed that I’d like them simply because of who played them.
Character everyone loves but I don’t: I don’t hate The Mummy so much as find the basis/origins on why that became a thing… kinda questionable.
Character I love but everyone else hates: I feel like Zenobia Dollard could’ve been an interesting one, were she not stuck in a mediocre at best movie. Also, Joan from House of Horrors was amazingly charming.
Character I used to love but don’t any longer: N/A.
Character I would kiss: …Flora Cranley.
Character I want to slap: A fair number of the guys I’ve seen so far who I’d want to slap happen to be named Frank (minus Frank Griffin; he’s good), so there you go. Also, like, a majority of the minor characters in the ‘41 Wolf Man. Also Also, Dr. Pretorius.
A pairing I love: I genuinely like Jack/Flora; they seemed so sweet together despite only sharing two scenes. Also, Frank/Geoffrey/Helen. Also also, I’m cheating a bit here, but seriously, Jack Griffin/Henry Jekyll. I know Universal never officially made a Jekyll and Hyde movie outside of the Abbott and Costello one, but I can’t help it at this point.
A pairing I hate: Jean, honey, you could’ve done so much better than what’s-his-name from Spider Woman Strikes Back. You really could’ve. Also, Gwen, honey, you can do better than Frank.
(Send me a fandom?)
awooga!!
