Django vs. TWD

So It's kind of ironic, but yesterday I watched Django: Unchained with my mom. After witnessing the events of the MSF of TWD, I couldn't help but make the comparison between Schultz and Beth. As those who have seen the movie know, Candie asked Shultz to shake his hand on a deal they had made after putting Shultz through a whole ordeal that involved yelling, threatening, and gloating. After adhering to everything Candie had wanted, Shultz refused to shake his hand in order to maintain the little dignity he thought he had left. He was prideful and vindictive. He didn't want Candie to think he had won and thus continue having everything his own, selfish way. Impulsively, he shoots Candie knowing the consequence is most likely his own death. When Django looks at him confusingly, his only response is 'Sorry, I couldn't resist myself' moments before being killed himself. I can't help but look at the scene in the MSF and draw the same comparison. Beth wanted Dawn to suffer, and her desire to take the control away from her resulted in her own death. In the end, she didn't care if she lived or died, she just wanted to see Dawn fail. And I believe this is completely out of character for Beth, who was never shown to be prideful or vindictive. This hospital literally destroyed the good left in her. "Sorry, I couldn't resist myself."
