So I’ve been thinking a lot about the “When we kissed it was weird…because you’re my family now” storyline and how the writers transitioned from that to the kiss we see at the end of Season 4.

The way it makes sense in my head all has to do with Kimiko’s being de-powered by Solider Boy. I think de-powered Kimiko desperately wants a romantic relationship with Frenchie. But her whole argument in season 3 is that he is her “family” and she feels the need to protect him, thus wanting to be re-injected with V. She prioritizes protecting him as a supe vs. having a romantic relationship with him as a non-supe, and in her mind she can only have one or the other because she feels “unworthy” to be with him as a supe.

Fast forward a few months after she gets re-injected and they ‘defeat’ Solider Boy. She’s had time to think about the kiss and still wants to be with Frenchie romantically, but feels he deserves someone better (aka a non-supe/not a monster). Then comes Colin. She obviously becomes very jealous about his relationship with Colin, but encourages him to pursue the relationship because she needs to prioritize protecting him vs. engaging in a romantic relationship with him.

Her feelings only grow stronger when he turns himself in, and she realizes she can’t protect him from himself or his past. She also forgives herself for being the ‘monster’ she believes herself to be. These 2 realizations lead to her initiating the kiss, choosing to be in a romantic relationship with him vs. protecting him.

Frenchie of course is in the dark about all of the internal workings of Kimiko because he himself is dealing with his own trauma and self-hatred via self-sabotage (the relationship with Colin, drugs, turning himself in).

I think this further adds to the feelings of guilt and distress she feels when Cate takes him away. She probably feels this only occurred due to her prioritizing a romantic relationship with him vs. protecting him-thus letting her guard down. She will likely blame herself for what happened :(

Wanna have your heart broken by something I just realized?

Nobody was there for Wanda.

In that scene where everyone was dying and all our hearts were breaking; Steve mourned Bucky, Okoye mourned T’Challa, Rhodey was there searching for Sam, Rocket was there with Groot, Nebula and Tony were there for all the Guardians and Strange, and Tony was definitely there for Peter, but nobody was there for Wanda. 

She died all alone, with nobody searching for her and nobody noticing that she was dead because she turned to fucking dust. 

They only figured it out after they found Vision’s body and assumed she was there next to him and fallen victim to Thanos as well. 

Until then, nobody was running up to her, crying over her frame or begging her to stay or even just holding her until she was gone like most of the others

Wanda Maximoff died alone and in tears.

She also died alone, holding the only person she loved that she killed then watched being brought back to life only to be slaughtered in front of her eyes.

She died thinking that this is all her fault if she only could’ve destroyed the stone sooner.

She died feeling her loved one die… Again (her brother in ultron).

She died thinking she also could’ve killed Thanos but couldn’t because she was also busy trying to destroy a stone and kill her lover in the process.

She died alone with no one to feel her disappear and never possibly come back to mourn her loss, like she has had to deal with her entire life.

She didn’t fight Thanos when he approached after vision died.

She only got up to fight, only to be thrown back, when Thanos brought vision back to life with the time stone.

She died wanting to die. Taking all the blame, the guilt and destruction she felt she caused or could’ve helped, with her.
