Do please 42 and akaashi keiji🌙
thank you for dropping a request <3 !! i hope you like it my dear hehe ; ;
ps. this is unedited and written upon receiving the request
“would you rather go back to the past or towards the future?”
akaashi took a deep breath as he contemplated on both choices you had graciously presented to him.
“is it that hard to choose?”
you snapped quietly, worried eyes glancing towards the side of the hall where most teachers were standing around.
“which choice would you pick then?”
“definitely back to the past!”
“really? just because you regretted not studying hard enough for the entrance exam?”
your lips frowned at yet another reminder of why you didn’t quite feel like you had a fulfilled life in high school.
“not that! i mean, i did regret not studying properly but that’s not the point.”
of course, studying is one of the main duties as a student but that’s definitely not the reason why you’d go back and relive those days again.
“we’re graduating akaashi! today!”
he coughed, giving you a look which basically translates to you being too loud.
“sorry—i just, you know, i miss the days when bokuto-senpai was around and how everyone was so excited for nationals—and you too! i just want the moments to last a little long—”
“y/n-san, if i catch you babbling during the principal’s speech, you’re going up the stage okay?”
the familiar voice of your homeroom teacher right by your ear had you zipped up immediately as she eyed akaashi a second more before walking back to where she stood.
“i would pick the future.”
“how do you always not get caught?”
you whispered right after she left, eyes staring daggers at the male who always get away with anything while you were the one that’s often get called out.
“i don’t know,” he chuckled amusingly, fingers adjusting his tie a little as he tried to maintain a straight face again.
akaashi hesitated with his lips slightly apart, the advice he had received from konoha-senpai before he graduated echoed in his mind.
“because you don’t want to study again?”
“perhaps because you dropped something.”
you both reached down to feel the wooden floor, fingers just barely caressing but your attention was too focused on finding the thing you supposedly dropped.
“here,” he reached his fist out and upon reflex you opened the palm of your hand.
it was a button. round and slightly yellow.
“i’m not missing any of my buttons though, maybe it’s someone else—”
that’s when you saw it, the slight thread that hung loosely on akaashi’s blazer where his missing button was. it was his. the last button on his blazer.
and everything seems to make sense now.
“are you flirting with me?”
you almost yelled in surprise at the thought of akaashi giving you his button as if it was like that of those shoujo manga scene you always squealed around.
the tiniest bit of pink that dusted on his ears was enough to have you blanked out.
“am i? i might just want a better future together that’s all.”
was akaashi always that cute?
you heard yourself asking a million times over before you decided perhaps graduation wasn’t as bad as you thought it’ll be.
“do you guys want to proclaim your love for each other up on stage? since that seem to be more important than graduating itself right?”
for once, you honestly wondered why the hell not since it’s the last day of school after all.
“you know what sensei? i just migh—”
“i’m sorry, we’ll excused ourselves to the back instead.”
with his arms on your wrist, you laughed at the hurried steps he took to drag you away from the teacher and the rest of the students.
“maybe i should pick the future and see how many kids we have akaashi!”
“maybe i should go back to the past and have you spend lesser time with bokuto-san since you’re becoming more and more like him.”
“no y/n, that wasn’t the point.”
akaashi wondered if he shouldn’t have followed through with the advice, but soon realized it didn’t really matter since the smile that was spreading across your adorable face was enough to prove his love was not one-sided after all. at least, not entirely so.
feel free to send one ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
