DRABBLEWATCH ANNIVERSARY QUESTIONNAIRE

A year is a long time, and there have been a ton of changes in how I run the blog and how you guys have seen it, and I want to know what you think! Every website of this caliber should have an open-forum for feedback so you guys can tell me what you think, and I want to know! None of these questions are required, so please answer what you’re comfortable to answer–but no names will be released publicly, and only I will be able to see the raw data from the form!

DANIEL'S LIVESTREAM Q+A SUBMISSION FORM

As part of Drabblewatch’s one-year anniversary, this form is to allow anyone to submit a question that will be answered within an upcoming livestream sometime later this month. Though I always have the askbox open on this blog for a variety of questions, this form is another open-forum to pick my brain for whatever information you’re keen to have!

Whether you have questions about me personally, Drabblewatch, or you’d like to understand the ins-and-outs of how I put together and run this among other writing blogs, you’re more than welcome to ask!

As part of this form, I am also asking for suggestions to the URL for Drabblewatch’s newest side-blog. This new blog will entirely consist of reblog/submission-based content to showcase original character and self-inserts for the Overwatch fandom.

Updates / Short Hiatus from Queue

Queue Hiatus

So, a mild retraction from a former announcement, especially with a constant shifting of a photoshoot I have to do for work that will keep me up past midnight tomorrow.

Due to my girlfriend (@roguevax) coming to visit me for a week, I will most likely be taking a short hiatus from the fairly standard queue you all and I have come to love. I will try to post some headcanons and whatnot as I have the time, but we will be visiting Dallas for several days, and I have a very late photoshoot for work the day before we leave, so I will probably won’t have the time to write anything for the queue before we start our little adventure.

Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean a whole-stop hiatus! I’ll still be available to answer asks and post the occasional thing, and I wholly encourage anyone who would like to help to do so! I very much encourage others to share their Overwatch readershot works with me, whether it’s a fill for this blog’s request list or not! 

If you guys want to keep updated on this adventure, since we’ll most-likely be blogging pictures and video about our trip (we’re planning to see the Dallas Aquarium and Six Flags at the very least), then make sure to check out my personal blog (Darthsuki) where I’ll be posting it! Also, we may do livestreams, due to the Summer Games event releasing on the 8th (Next Tuesday)!

Drabblewatch Anniversary/1.5k celebration

I’m still taking ideas for what you guys would like to see from me for this blog’s one-year anniversary! But so far, I’ve fallen fond of these ideas below, so make sure to offer feedback if you have other ideas, or personally enjoy these possibilities!:

Creation of a new blog, specifically to showcase self-inserts and OCs for the Overwatch fandom: 

A lot of people have been interested in something like this in the past several months, especially since I love to showcase people’s self-inserts, OCs, and ships that contain them. Since the content of that blog wouldn’t be my creations and instead the submissions or reblogs of other’s content for that theme, it would be something that I can easily run in tandem with my current workload. I would possibly take on other admins to assist with this if needed.

Live-Stream Q+A, with questions given through a Google form:

Another thing that was requested some since I started Drabblewatch. I’m more than happy to offer any sort of advice or technical information that you guys may want from me, as specific as you guys would like. Literally, I’m open to answer just about anything, and I’ll do so via a livestream! Anything from how to run a writing blog, how to write certain themes, kinks, or even life advice (as best as a 23-year-old trans man ace with professional experience in photojournalism and public affairs/social media can give). Hell, you guys can even poke info about some of my personal life, old art and writing, and I’ll be more than happy to talk about most of it!

Important Announcement: Haitus

First of all, let me say that I am very, very bad at communicating my negative feelings, especially when I feel that I’m supposed to otherwise present myself as a professional entity (blame my Public Affairs schooling and career, I suppose). 

For the past month (perhaps a little less than a month) I have been getting increasingly overwhelmed in keeping up with this blog, primarily in getting through all of the messages in the ask box, organizing through the requests for both headcanons/drabbles, and actually filling said requests. 

It’s become increasingly overwhelming to keep this blog updated now that I’m finding my love back in my old crafts, primarily painting and clay work. I’ve done my best to keep this from being obvious in the blog. Add onto this the couple commissions I have left (and will definitely be finishing, goddammit), and the fact that I haven’t honesty been able to write anything for myself for several months (the irony is hilarious, amiright?), PLUS projects from work and otherwise trying to go out more with my suitemate to the mall, shopping and other physical activities....it is quite a lot to handle.

I am so happy to have met all of you guys, and I absolutely don’t want to close this blog, because I honestly think posting at a more casual pace might be my best solution, especially since all of what I post is original / requested content, and I never want anyone else to feel obligated to assist me in it since I’m, well, the owner (and running a blog of this nature is a lot more work than I ever thought it could be, though that is in some light a very good thing, because it means the blog is doing its job). 

In order to keep my sanity intact and perhaps find a better rhythm in how I run it:

Drabblewatch will be on haitus for a couple weeks, to see if that helps with some of the problems I’ve been having and give me more time for the other things I’ve been really wanting to do again (crafting, painting, and soon to come cosplay creating). 

I know this is a very sudden announcement, and it’s primarily why I don’t want to close it--perhaps simply taking a break might help! 

I’m really, deeply sorry if this disappoints anyone, because I know that so many of you guys really love this blog and its content, but I don’t want to accidentally turn my writing/headcanons into something I’d otherwise loathe, because this fandom has really brought me a lot of peace and amazing friends. 

You are all however more than free to keep using the Drabblewatch Discord server, and everyone is welcome to follow my personal blog (Darthsuki) and send me messages/asks! 

If anything changes, I will make sure to keep you guys updated--the winners of the contest are also more than entitled still to their prizes from me! If I don’t get to you guys soon, please feel more than free to pop into my IM / ask box about it!

Readershot/Drabble Requests Open!

Short Explanation: 

Readershot/Drabble requests are now open again! You can request them in the same way as you would headcanons (ask or submission box), but please be aware that these are requests and may take a long time to get to, though they will all be put on a publicly-shared google document in case my guest writers (or anyone else) would like to write the idea.

Longer Explanation:

When I started this blog over 3-4 months ago, I did so on the premise that I’d use it as an excuse to write short drabbles for simple smutty idea requests. As most of you could probably surmise, the overall use and direction of the blog moved over time, becoming one that offers imagines, conversation, social interaction and headcanons all the same. 

Unfortunately I was under the impression that I would be able to keep up / finish the list of ideas that I got for both headcanons and drabbles, and even more unfortunately I set up a very bad mental  expectation of myself (which led to quite a bit of stress over a personally-run blog that is, again, request-based). I’ve changed the way I’ve done things quite a bit since I closed drabble/readershot requests, and with gaining a lot of good friends and getting to know a lot of rather dedicated guest writers, I’ve decided to open up the option for followers to submit these requests/ideas!

Please remember that these are requests, and are not guaranteed to be filled in any length of time. I do my best to keep the blog active with other things no matter what, so you should still have a lot of interesting content to keep you occupied!

You’re welcome to send ideas/requests for drabbles and the like in the same way as you would for headcanons (ask or submission box), and just like I have a masterlist for headcanon requests, I too have one for drabbles/readershot requests.

Organization of Headcanon Request Masterlist

Just as an update so you guys don’t get confused or worried, @myth-and-mischief just recently helped out the blog by reorganizing the headcanon request list. Up until this point, I put things together solely chronologically, which seemed to work to some extent, but now that there is over 30+ pages of requests, it can get a little hectic when I’m trying to search for a specific AU or the like.

So because of that, the list is now organized chronologically and according to any applicable AUs or similar themes, such as SCP-AU, Omegaverse, Overwatch University, ect. This will make it easier for people to find them if needed. @myth-and-mischief has also and combined similar headcanons that can be filled together in one post, whether they’re asking for the same thing or multiple similar things in one post.

I wanted to give you guys that update so nobody is confused or worried! And thank you again Mythy for being so awesome in helping the blog! ;w;

Happy Thanksgiving! + 1k Followers

First of all, Happy Thanksgiving friends (if it’s something you celebrate, of course)! I hope you all are enjoying your day spending time with family, friends, or food (or all of the above). I wish you all a wonderful day, but I also applaud all of you for the great milestone that the blog as a whole has achieved!

We just hit 1k followers! It goes to show how awesome all of you guys are c: From your commentary to your ideas, your imagines and requests for all sorts of drabbles and headcanons alike, having such a wonderful followership and community like all of you guys is certainly one thing that I’m thankful for.

Because we’ve finally hit such a milestone, I’ve decided to host a stream later this weekend! I’ll be playing Overwatch on both PC and PS4 with some of you guys, and then probably playing a handful of the other games that I have on my steam account.

If anyone has other ideas for what I can do for the stream, let me know! As of right now, I’m planning on having it sometime this Sunday, so keep your eyes out for a time!

Update and Future Milestone

Hello friends! I’m sorry that I didn’t have anything posted yesterday or most of today--I had a really long day at work the other day and was, in all honesty, too exhausted to touch the blog. I wound up actually going to bed early after working on one of my commissions, but I’m rested up now! (Just took a nap, in fact). I see all of y’alls wonderful messages in the inbox, and I’ll be getting to them very soon! <3

In other news: WE’RE AT 991 FOLLOWERS. When we reach 1k, I plan on having some sort of stream, probably of me playing several games as I have in previous streams. However, I’m still open up for ideas that you guys think would be awesome! What else do you guys want to see me do on my stream?

I’m really sorry for the short notice, but the blog will be on a temporary hiatus for tonight. Unfortunately I have to finish a very time-pressed project at home tonight, and work was already super stressful and long today and in all honesty what I want to do is sleep @w@ 

I also have two commissions that are in desperate need of finishing as soon as I’m finished with said project (I have to make an infographic for an article).

So again, I won’t be able to get to any asks/headcanons/etc in the inbox tonight, but you all are still more than welcome to send me your thoughts, dreams, headcanons and whatnot as normal!
