i don't think animals would immediately favor draco, but her endless patience & care when it comes to them usually makes her the favorite caregiver after a while. kids are usually scared of her too, but she's nice once you get used to her Spikiness.
mel's a bitch. gotten fired more times than he can shapeshift fingers onto himself & doesn't quite have a stable living situation after his parents divorced so he's living with draco & her fiance. he gets into a lot of trouble & really needs therapy but he makes decent money & keeps draco & sunlits house clean for no charge so nobody can really complain .
