Morning Light

Sunbathing at dawn is a favorite activity of mine, particularly in the warmer months. For once, my traveling companion joined me in enjoying the morning air and dawn chorus of the birds, and captured this very fetching picture of me hunting down the perfect spot to warm my wings.

I ordered my DollZone Yin Long 1/6 Po on February 20th, 2024.

After 1 year, 5 months, and 5 days of waiting, he finally arrived....

And is the wrong resin.

What I ordered (plus blushing) vs what I recieved.

I was so excited to unbox and now I'm just in shock. The translucent pearl resin was a limited edition release so I have no idea if they can even replace it at this point if he was ordered incorrectly. If it was a mixed up order and they sent my doll to someone else, I have no idea how this might get resolved.

Mostly the idea of having to deal with this on top of everything else is exhausting. At this point, I almost just want my money back and I can return him and be done with it.

I repainted my Dollzone Moon (1/6 dragon edition) in normal yellow, as her old faceup was, well, old. I really like how she turned out this time, she looks way more mature than before!

Here to compare her to her old faceup back in its heyday. She still has the same wig and eyes as back in 2016 when I got her. I made both, though the eyes are just acrylic bases with irises I drew digitally and printed out. I really love how mighty her eyebrows are this time around. I really am in my bold eyebrow era!

Here's a completed picture of her. I am tempted to work back into her faceup and extend the forehead scales all the way up. The horns prevent her from wearing the wig normally. I literally have to wrap the hair around her horns to keep it in place.

The printer goofed up the wings, so I wound up having to make some with polymer clay myself. which took... a pretty dang long time with trying to make the ball joints symmetrical enough to hold a pose.

My first doll project of 2024 was to re-style Ember. I made my first sewn wig from pre-made wefts and I am happy with it!

The part is messy, but it's not bad for my first wig like this. The wig cap is fabric and I bought it years ago from Angelesque still. I sewed most of the wefts on while the cap was on her head.

With her new pastel pink and mint wig, I finally kicked myself in the butt to also redo her faceup. I opted for now applied eyelashes this time because her eyes are so narrow that you can't see them at all.

This was her previous faceup and wig. The wig always was meant to be temporary, because I don't like it that much, but it was the only one I didn't feel bad cutting holes into for her horns.

The transparent horns are magnetic, but the solid ones are not, and of course they are a very awkward position making it impossible for her to wear normal wigs. Yes, the wig I sewed has holes cut into it for her horns. It's stretchy which is the only reason it goes over the horns at all.

Got this cute dragon boy BJD at ACEN. It's a blind box bjd set, I got the last one the vendors had so I got the display box too haha

I'm 100% gonna redo his faceup, wanna make him look more dragon-y. Maybe change his eyes too while I'm at it.
