tell me why my professor is practically begging us to use ai for this class I’m in??? He’s wanting us to upload our resumes to ai to generate interview questions and answers like??? And when I asked him after the class if there was another way to do that assignment he said he’s never had someone ask that before and he doesn’t know any other way to do this assignment???
Like it’s against school policy to use ai for your work and he’s begging us in every assignment to use ai and he himself is constantly using it to make our assignments (they make absolutely no sense) and I just hate him for it.
Alright I'm gonna do a kind of rant about something in the SB fandom that's been bothering me for a while (/lh but also a little /srs). It involves some stuff with the new Ruin DLC, so I'm using a readmore to avoid spoiling things (and also cuz I can already tell I'm gonna write a long one):
.
So. Monty, right? Big ol' gator who uses his powers for evil supposedly. He's described in logs you find around the game to mostly use his newly(?) installed bass-playing claws to destroy things when he's not on stage - if he even goes to the shows, as sometimes he'll be wandering the catwalks above Gator Golf instead. I've actually read with my own eyes that people believe he's always been this violent, and those logs and the ones that hint to Monty being responsible for Glamrock Bonnie's disappearance are supposedly proof of this.
But like, we can't take that as the end-all-be-all of his character? And I find it weird that others are doing exactly that? When there's obviously more to his character than what we see in Literally Worst Case Scenario The Game aka SB and Ruin.
Let me give you an example from the base game first, using Glamrock Freddy (albeit for lines I think were added in a later patch). When going to Fazer Blast on the elevator, a recording of Freddy's voice will enthusiastically advertize all sorts of things to encourage families to empty their wallets. And then, Freddy on the Faz-Watch will ask something along the lines of "I don't sound THAT annoying, do I?" (The scene might differ if he's in the elevator with you.)
And, he's right, it DOESN'T really sound like him. The recording is not the way he speaks, either in cadence or word choice. Like they took his voice file separate of the animatronic and made it say an ad. What this, to me, sounds like is, it's establishing that Faz Ent has a perception (or goal) of the animatronics different from the animatronics themselves.
Some people use the arcade game in Monty Golf as proof that he's mean-spirited, by saying that he hates Freddy and wants to replace him. The last level in the arcade game has Monty in lead of the band, with Freddy in a dumpster.
But, that game was designed by some Faz Ent game dev - sure, that could be what they had intended for Monty's programming, but as we already established with the Fazer Blast dialogue, what Faz Ent wants from the robots is not always what they get. I'm sure they didn't want him to skip concerts to wander the catwalks, for example.
As the Ruin DLC has proven, the perception of Roxanne we get from the base game is VASTLY different from how she acts (without the virus) at least around the kids, if not in general! When face-to-face with Cassie, Roxanne is sweet, gentle, and oh so supportive - and becomes fierce as a proper wolf to protect her, fending back danger and telling her to run. I'll admit that I was vastly mistaken on Roxy's character a while ago thanks to taking her base game actions at face value - until I remembered that she, like the others, is at the mercy of the virus. They Are Not Themselves, and the logs are reports of Abnormalities, not the Norm.
Yes, the Ruin DLC seems to be further proof that Monty was in fact the one to take out Bonnie. But we have no idea whether or not this was done before or after the virus got into his system! And, with what Ruin has given us for Roxy, it's entirely possible and in fact LIKELY that his "violent behavior" in SB is NOT the real Monty! (I also think we still can't be CERTAIN it was Monty specifically - remember, he doesn't have his Destruction Claws until AFTER he's given the bass, aka after Bonnie is out of the picture. Sure, he could still do damage. I just think it's not as clear-cut as people make it out to be.)
Another example I'll use from the DLC to show that the animatronics are behaving VASTLY different is in Sun & Moon, but specifically in Cassie's response to collectibles of them. She fondly remembers her time in the daycare, and says (IIRC) she always slept soundly with Moon. Compare that to the base game logs describing the child who suddenly NEEDED the lights on at night after a daycare visit, but then still reacted adversely to being in the light. These two accounts prove that there was indeed a CHANGE in the Daycare Attendant, one that vastly altered their behavior to the point of terrifying children.
When Cassie first encounters Monty, she says "that Monty thing." I don't believe she realizes that's Monty at first - you could say it's because of his appearance, but I also believe with this other evidence that it's because he was never violent around children. Otherwise she would be much more likely to think this is Monty. She immediately recognized Chica despite the damage and gunk all over her, but was worried by the sight, asking 'what HAPPENED to you,' certain that the Chica she knew wouldn't have done this to herself. (And, she's right!)
The DLC also has a bit more of the earlier "Monty wants to replace Freddy" narrative: The ride telling Monty's "back story" having his rockin' guitar blowing the head off of a Freddy statue at the end.
Similarly to the arcade game, this ride had to be scripted and designed, had to go through the marketing team. The ride is designed to give a cool back story and establish the newest member of the band. This "rivalry" with Freddy sounds like marketing to appeal to punks who hate authority figures or want to get up to mischief. But what Faz Ent (and others) forget is, you can be a punk without being a jerk to others - punks can be softhearted and gentle.
I doubt anyone's going to read all of this but, it's been bothering me for a while to see so many others agree that Monty is just The Asshole Character TM. I don't think ANY of these animatronics are jerks at their core. But the events of the game and the DLC are literally the lowest of the low, where the mall was actually going to close and have the bots in repairs for a few days, that's how bad things had gotten - and when the earthquake happens and Faz Ent just abandons all of the bots for the DLC, they've been rotting away for god knows how long, without repairs or support.
I don't get why so many people give Peppino a 'trans' headcanon. nowhere in the game does it tell, nor give any proof of Peppino being trans. sorry I'm just.. confused..? nah more just ranting at this point cause I don't fucking get it.
don't call me a transphobe for this either-I have a trans friend that I love and support greatly. I just don't understand the headcanon.
EDIT - look guys I'm just saying I'm confused. this is a rant, and it honestly shouldn't be taken seriously. a few of the comments were saying stuff about 'it's a headcanon, it's not supposed to be canon' and I get that. I just.. I remain confused as to why it's used, y'know? I'm not saying it's wrong or gross to make Peppino trans, I'm just saying that it feels.. off..? for me.
You don’t need to want kids yourself to want to do good for kids.
I’m not planning to have any in the near future (likely ever), but if I see a kid having a blast? I want to cheer them on! Kid having a bad day, I’m telling bad jokes and throwing some change or a buck towards the thing they wanted. Kid has a question, I am On It, either I can give an easy answer or we’re googling and learning together. If there’s any way I can make kids’ lives happier or easier, you best believe I’m trying to in a heartbeat instead of being bitter I didn’t have that “when I was a kid.”
People need to stop assuming “being good with kids” means you are destined to be a parent. Conversely, people need to stop being like “I don’t like kids therefore my mean behavior is justified.” You don’t need to sign adoption papers or do anything crazy just, give them a thumbs-up/high-five or something, or just don’t glare at them ffs
It's frustrating that people go on about Kendra being more powerful than Seth.
Like, Kendra's powers could be super strong, and she could do amazing things with them, and yes, they are treated better because they're "light".
But canon does not support them actually being stronger (at least in an actual general useful way)! No one teaches her them! Seth's powers overall are actually more useful, his language skills cover three species and Kendra's covers one.
She is actually overall weaker in terms of abilities that have use in (I’ve posted a breakdown of their powers before so won’t do it right now), and with the events in the last book her one actual major advantage over Seth in terms of powers is gone.
So like??? I don't understand the constant insistence that she has too much power or that she's so much stronger than Seth? Like yeah, raw power wise maybe, but she can't use it.
Like, one thing that frustrates me is people pointing out her potential, as if Brandon has used it at all. Because he hasn't?? He only uses her powers in niche situations that keep coming up in the books but in general life (even fantasy life) ?? Don't???
And I don’t mean E*ndgame bad or end of G*me of T*rones bad. I mean moves that were never meant to be good in the first place. Movies that make you feel like the writer was shooting cough syrup and cocaine while they were writing it. Movies that are sometimes more fetish than plot. Movies that you’ve only ever heard about while scrolling through Amazon Prime at midnight on a Friday night cause you don’t have to work the next day and your tryin to hold on to the idea that your not too old to stay up late anymore.
So I binged all of s16 of rvb (because I'm the kind of person who waits and looks at all the spoilers and stuff before I watch it) and like. Idk. Honestly it was really good, I loved seeing more sister and donut and stuff. But at the mention of Locus and then his like really brief past self in it just REALLY MADE ME WISH THAT WE COULD HAVE FELIX BACK. Like hear me out. A story where it's the same time frame as the BGC time traveling and stuff, but it's focused on Locus. And Locus goes back in time and is like idk, trying to convince Felix to leave it alone and leave chorus, or idk maybe even going back further in time to try and stop him and Felix from ever getting involved with chorus in the first place. IDK what I want, all I know is I want more of Locus and Felix together. Maybe Locus tells Felix about how he's going to die and how much he misses him afterwards so he's trying to prevent it, maybe there's lots of fighting and angst. Maybe there's their playful quips at eachother like in s14 idk. I just need more of them together. Please....
