Inktober Day 6 - Golden

Sliding in just before the end of August, here’s a dragon for smaugust! This one is inspired by leaf filled sea slugs, after I saw a photo of one I couldn’t help myself. They’re guarding a little hoard of seashells. Since they’re a very small dragon they can be prey to larger fish and animals in the water. To scare off bigger predators they will puff up their cerata (projections) to make themselves bigger, and if this fails they will jettison some of its cerata to distract the intruder, to make their getaway.

I’d have loved to do more dragons this month, but I’ve moved and it’s been very hectic! Maybe I will do some more later, even if it’s not smaugust any longer.
