With the new bloopers video That came out and me thinking of drawing Dragonceit all day and doodling sander sides with my new gel pens, this was the result
*slides in on a wheely chair* did someone mention a rare pair and it has the noodle in it?! *pushes down glasses* I’m all ears, because I can’t see shit -5am🦊
Well I lied I was exactly 1 (one) ask away and here it is, folks.
Roman is a prince and there’s a noble in his court, Deceit, that he talks to despite some significant “differences” in morals (I have a lot of feelings about this but tldr; it’s actually more like the way they see their morals/what they’re willing to do differently) and the fact his friends don’t really like Deceit. There’s a witch shifter that’s been causing trouble and Roman starts ranting about her.
Then he says to Deceit, “She’s an even bigger villain than you.”
Well, his interest is peaked now, and he asks if she really is so much worse than him.
Why yes, Roman assures, getting into his story. He’s a field of daisies compared to this woman!
So Deceit, as protective as he is intrigued, agrees to tag along for Roman’s next proper encounter with the witch.
When they finally meet her, truthfully the first time Roman’s ever met her face to face, she’s revealed to be a witch of the same species as Deceit- a species that suffered heavy blows shortly after his birth, during The Great War. Her attacks have all been to warn people away. Away from what, you ask? The remaining village of refugees from The Great War, many of which are of Deceit’s species.
So she isn’t the villain Roman thought she was, and even fighting for justice and honour. A conversation in, and our romantic prince is absolutely gone on this woman. Doesn’t hurt that she thinks his “I’m bi” jokes are funny, even if she stifles the laughter.
As for Deceit, he sees a woman who protects those she loves and isn’t afraid of getting her hands dirty to do it. He relates to that and her dramatic sense of style, both vocally and in her clothing- also something Roman connects with.
So, well, let’s just say these two (who’ve been suffering from URT -Unresolved Romantic Tension- for most of the story until now, of course) have no interest in harming this “dragon witch” after all.
I’m roughly 3 asks away from posting a Poly Roman/DragonWitch/Deceit AU tbh
