Had it not been Genji who decided on the film, Angela would have long turned it off and replaced the blank screen with a simple comedy or family movie. Horror movies weren’t something that frightened her; most of the time she found them to be comedic. Nothing like a physically implausible death of an annoying character to get a good laugh. Her history of poking at idiot gorefests had her agreeing to watch this movie at first, but upon realizing that the actual movie was neither gorey nor sloppily put together, her composure changed.
Ironic as it is, Angela never messed with superstition. It’s been ingrained in her mind as deep as her morality, and with how this movie was playing out, it almost felt like it was targeting that fear of the paranormal.
Simplistic as the setting was, its unyielding tension kept the doctor silent from beginning to midpoint, thoughts pried away from the plot by Genji’s clumsy shifting.
On screen, a woman was using a mirror to check corners for spirits passing by, a jumpscare occurring right when she believes herself to be safe. Angela couldn’t avoid it; that buildup with the sudden scream scared the hell out of her to the point she hadn’t realized where her hands had moved to until Genji was already under her shirt.
Lips press together tightly, Angela pondering just how scary this movie was to have made Genji say he’s scared. It could be due to the unfamiliar vulnerability she was feeling that sparked such strange naivety, but somehow his ruse goes unchecked.
“ Genji? ”
Her heart’s racing from the scares, but she still puts on a brave face to try and comfort the hiding cyborg.
“ It’s okay, I got a little frightened, too. ”
A soft, breathless chuckle escapes her, hands moved to rub along his back to ease the anxiety.
“ There’s around twenty minutes left, so you can hide until it’s over. Or we can just watch another movie. ”
Please say change the movie.
City lights brightened the dark night sky, nearly painting away the indigo canvas with white and yellow lights. The lit streets were covered in splashes of neon pinks, greens, and blues as club and bar signs flickered on and the party-goers and their tag alongs hit the streets. Further away from the central part the city the lights started to dim, the night sky reclaiming its domain as the real creatures of the night slithered out from their hiding holes to find unsuspecting prey or bribe one another with the latest items the black market had to sell.
Faye remained on the border of these two sides of the coin, watching and waiting for her target. In truth, she was a bit more nervous than usual. The clan that had hired her had been kind enough to warn her that previous assassination attempts had been tried and all failed which meant he was not only skilled but well aware of his enemies. Getting the jump on him would be difficult if possible but she’d been in this line of work long enough to know how to handle herself and how to retreat if the situation called for it.
She’d been following the rogue Shimada for a while and had predicted he’d be coming through this area on his travel. Where he was going or what he had planned she wasn’t certain. But it’d be made soon enough. She had been perched in a half constructed building, tarps still hanging down in places, awaiting any sign for him when she felt it.
He hadn’t made a sound but her natural instinct and intuition was highly honed. In an instant, she had unsheathed the two blades she had at her sides and rolled out of the way of any shots he may have tried firing before turning to face him, a smile spreading across her face.
“I see why you’re still alive. How long have you known I’ve been followin’ you?” She inquired.

Mei usually wasn't the type to boldly kiss someone out of nowhere but Genji looked very attractive when he was concentrating, even with his face partially covered.
Mei smiled innocently down at him, unable to stop herself from giggling at his response. "I would but you've yet to show me how to take it off."
