I -LOVE- Inspiration!
I really love it, when you’re just going about your business, doing your everyday living and whatnot, and then wham! this seemingly-random thing just pops into your head, and it makes you go, “Huh… That’s weird… But interesting!” And then, whether or not you decide to focus on that for a while, and further contemplate it, it can blossom into this super-cool idea!
I just had a super-awesome idea for a new race of creatures that I’m most -definitely- going to be using in my future games! I really like where this race is going, so I just might even copyright it when I publish my next RPG system! I can’t give out too much information about it (for obvious reasons!), but I -will- say that I’m really super-happy I’ve been forcing myself to contemplate new creatures and storylines for tabletop gaming the past few days: It’s totally paid off!
For a little teaser, for those of you that will someday play one of my games (as I don’t think I’ll be restricting this particular type of being to just a single game setting), you will know what I’m talking about, when you go up against “Creatures based on musical perfection”!
All that’s left to mention, on top of being very thankful for the inspiration, is that another print run of “Are You A Changeling?” is due very soon, and we’ll have plenty available for sale at Midwest Furfest next month!
Also, by then, we should have it for sale online at www.EquestriaInspired.net around then, and then people all around the world can enjoy Changeling shenanigans! :D
Stay tuned for more!
Homework Stinks
Getting so intensely super-slammed with homework and tests right now that I'm truly longing for the days back when my imagination had the time to wander and be productive... I love keeping busy and all, but when I've got 13 chapters to read, 2 MAJOR exams, 3 essays to write, and a research paper that requires 3 full days of ethnographic observation with notes, interviews and documented citations... It's like all the teachers are collaborating together to drop the heaviest workload on their students in a single week -.- AYAC has been hurting because of lack of expansion development... Mass Effect: Unity, The Matrix, and Datamon have all been shelved :( Not a happy pony
Update whilst waiting for Chinese nahms:
So I'm sitting in a local Chinese resturaunt that I've never been to before, with my older brother in from California, and I randomly remembered that it's been too long since I posted here, so... Here we go!! "Are You A Changeling?" has been a huge success, and the first printing is almost sold out already, and Bronies all over the country (and even some around the world!) have been so wonderful in their supporting us in playing my games, giving me wonderful feedback, and even buying copies of AYAC!! It brings me such joy to see how much fun people have with games I've made/revamped/brought back from obscurity, like "Are You A Changeling?" and Mass Effect: Unity, and MLP: TOON!, and Inspireland and even old-school Albedo! It's both work AND fun, running games for such awesome people all of these weekends I'm at cons all over the country! I've now very recently been hit with a surge of inspiration to really hustle on the development of my battling monsters system which is still in it's thoughtform state (currently under the placeholder moniker of Datamon, for the time being, until I come up with an official name!) It also doesn't help that I've been watching Digimon a bunch! Anyway, dinner's here now, so I'mma enjoy my sweet and sour nahms now! Stay tuned!
The man who's work was what originally got me to look into My Little Pony, UnanimousDelivers, is enjoying his hot dog he grabbed at a place close to the TrotCon hotel! This particular hot dog is called the "Fancy Pants", which is of course why he got it. Of course much merriment and dirty humor ensued! It was both an honor and a pleasure to finally meet the man that opened the door to everything MLP for me, and I must admit that his personality has the perfect combination of zany and fun and awesome... I feel like we both belong in Ponyville! I hope that he has a reason to come to Chicago-land in the future, because we'd live to have him!
As of right now, "Are You A Changeling?" is officially in print! The three different-tiered Core Sets are all on their way, and will be available at TrotCon! As TrotCon was a couple of months ahead-of-schedule for our initial print-runs, we pushed really hard to get the initial sets ready for those lucky congoers to get their hooves on this wonderful games! As such, we'll be able to sell the cards as-is! You will be able to store them however you'd like, whether they be wrapped up in a precious cloth, or however else you'd like! The only minor drawback to making this lovely game available sooner, for all of you lovely ponyfolk, is that we weren't given enough time to get official boxes for these cards to be carried in designed and printed for the con.
Not to worry, though! Soon, we'll have the cards and boxes ready for online order! As for now, of course, we offer all sorts of Changeling swag for purchase on our CaféPress site http://www.cafepress.com/EquestriaInspired (So far the T-Shirts and Tote Bags are our most popular items!)
I sure hope to see you all at TrotCon! :D
Oh noes! Image leak of "Are You A Changeling?" stuffs! >.> Enjoy!
Not Enjoying Work
Boy, I messed up at work today. Apparently, after the worst training I've ever been through, I'm now expected to somehow instinctually know how to fix every single thing that could possibly go wrong with these bloody machines that have as many working and moving parts (inside and out) as -I- do! Blegh... Anyway, let's move on! This weekend, I shall be going to Furry Connection North to start one of the last rounds of beta testing on the base set of "Are You A Changeling?" before we begin finalizing things for printing within the next few months! After the convention, there will be a few more weekends of beta testing with the local group (lucky you!) before we make the final push to print! We plan on having finished product ready to sell by the time TrotCon rolls around, and just might be heading there to do just that!! I'm sorry that it's been a while since my last post, and also that there's very little real information I can give to you guys, seeing as it's not released just yet, but once we DO have a printed set ready to sell, I will finally be able to talk much more freely about certain mechanics, gameplay and other various aspects! To be honest, I've been very deeply focused on the development of my Mass Effect tabletop RPG system, ever since the Citadel DLC came out (if you haven't played it yet, DO IT!! It is the best thing to have ever happened to the Mass Effect universe since the, Krogan!), plus I just needed to step back from Changeling for a short while to clear my head of it, to not only avoid the risk of burning myself out on it, but to also come back fresh, ready to try a different angle or a new outlook (which has helped enormously in the past, mind you! It's how I came up with the Events expansion!) The Mass Effect tabletop system development has been coming along swimmingly, I might add, and I've been getting great feedback from my players, so maybe by this time next year, I'll have something solid enough to propose to Bioware, if only just to be allowed licensing rights to print and sell! If you want to know more, ask! :) Keep your hooves crossed for more soon! Remember, I'm always up for answering questions!!
