Say hello to drakegold!!
Oh boy, this au really got turned upside down after the crash. In drakegold, three main kingdoms ruled the world. Before the crash, all three kingdoms were at war and had been for millennia. Why? The common drakegold monsters and humans who crossed over in the crash couldn’t tell you. In fact only the royals seem to know. Octavia and Augustus worked very hard to bury their AUs history.
After the crash, when the drakegold monsters appeared, there was mass confusion. Only a fraction of the people from the au had crossed over, leaving people scared, lost and missing family friends and leaders. The few nobles who were mixed into the crowd attempted to gather forces and fight against the strange groups of monsters already inhabiting ebott. Of course the drakegolds were totally outnumbered so it didn’t end up well for these wannabe rulers.
When things in ebott settled enough, and two monsters were chosen to be the drakegolds representatives, a massive plot to undermine the royals still new authority was uncovered. The whole noble class of drakegold was culled in one swoop. It was easily the biggest round of mass executions in ebotts short history. The example made of this au did wonders in getting the rest of the more unruly AUs to stay in line. Now only the normal class, more level headed members remain.
Now to introduce the siblings!
Garnet Threadgil (Draketale sans)
Garnet is a skeleton monster standing at 5’5 from drakegold. She has a deep crimson magic, two large horns that curl behind her skull and a very long scaled tail matching her magic. She is aged 93
Garnet is a very proud character and a touch vain really, but she deserves it. All of her success in life she created by her own hands alone. She is extremely ambitious and driven. Garnet was born with an insatiable hunger for the finer things in life~ She loves extravagance and works hard in order to enjoy it. She is very intense and intimidating around those she deems a threat to her lifestyle, coy, teasing and alluring to anyone she sees as useful, and for true friends, she is affectionate and nurturing. She has an intense need to feel in control of those around her and tends to dislike any monsters or people who she deems more powerful than her on principle. Not that she’ll ever admit that of course ;).
Before the crash, garnet had just been another nameless soldier in the endless wars of her au. After, she saw a chance to change her fate and took it. Using loans and a lot of personal labor, she managed to purchase and start running the Marble mouth, a large mine located near New Hope. Garnet paid off her loan sharks years ago and now owns her mine completely. She’s done very well for herself and is rightfully reveling in it at the moment.
Her special ability is called candy breath by topaz. When she leans her face in close to another persons, the scent of her breath helps them relax, feel pleasant and tends to make people rather loose lipped. She only uses this ability on those she feels threatened by as a defense mechanism since it has such a strong tell. Anyone affected gets a strong aftertaste of Cotten candy in their mouth.
Things she loves: her brother, precious metals and gemstones- rubies and sapphire especially, fancy fabrics and embroideries, nail art, dueling, screamo and folk music, getting dressed up for concerts/parties/conventions, renaissance fairs, little kids, stone furniture and decor, the color gold of course, sun lotus, fresh salmon or trout
Topaz Threadgil (drakegold papyrus)
Topaz is a drakegold skeleton standing at 6’4 feet. He has golden magic, two forward facing horns on his skull and a very long scaled tail matching his magic color. He is aged 49
Topaz is a kind, gentle and sensitive soul. He has terrible social anxiety and will cling to anyone he trusts when out in public. It takes a good while of knowing him before he can look people in the eyes and speak to them directly. He can be very passionate about the people and hobbies he loves in life. When he finds something worth keeping, he will pour everything he has into it. It was obvious growing up that he wasn’t made for his au. Garnet kept topaz sheltered and hidden from their war torn surroundings which was good then, but now after the crash that same protection is more like a glittering cage. He doesn’t want to be a burden on his sister, but is unsure at how to change their dynamic.
Topaz is supported by his sister, so no job at the moment. He does spend a lot of time creating absolutely stunning embroidery pieces. Garnet wants him to come out with his work, but he is too scared of the attention it’ll bring. Anything topaz makes will inevitably find its way into garnets closet somehow lol.
His special ability is called live wire. In battle topaz can electrify his tail and use it as a whip and taser combo. It’s very draining and more of a last resort move
Things he loves: his sister, embroidery, weaving, cross stitch, tapestries, those f*cked up looking medieval cats in old manuscripts, screamo and 80s, zinnias, art history, the color indigo, jellied eel, dating sims, playing the sims
Side characters
Octavia: drakegold toriel. She is a ruthless, stone cold cut throat leader. She is confirmed to be immune to the effects of LV, so is the royal to perform any executions for high profile criminals. When that task isn’t needed, she spends time with ivory editing what is allowed to be published in the public histories.
Augustus; drakegold Asgore. He is a quiet and private character for a ruler. Augustus prefers to blend into the background of the others. He has a good head for law and works specifically in criminal defense law.
