hi please send asks about my characters i wanna talk about my babies
Hi!!!!! What would you say is the biggest internal/external conflict in your wip? What makes it such a big deal? What excites you most about writing through to the resolution?
ohmygosh, thank you so much for the ask! the thing about drakonblud is that dragons are on a strict no-kill list, due to how rare/endangered they are. of course, there are people who still kill/torture them in order for their blood, which has a lot of magical properties, so the main characters are basically dismantling a dangerous black market specializing in dragons.
the internal conflict is that every single character is unhappy with where they are in life, or they feel like there has to be more to their world than they know. for example, a prince who absolutely despises royalty, both because he’s shy and hates public appearances, and because the traditional royal practices are things he’s very uncomfortable with. also, there’s a lot of insecurity, especially surrounding friendships, for a few of the characters, so they have to grow to accept themselves and accept truths about friendship and trust, which is fun.
personally, i’m really excited to watch my characters grow, especially because i’ve put a part of myself in each of them; in what they do, in their personalities, in their insecurities, etc. and i feel that sticking with this until the end will also help me solve some of the insecurities i’ve been dealing with irl, because i’ve tied my own issues into the story. also, i’ve been wanting to write a no-romance story with dragons forever, so that’s a huge plus, as well as the fact that i feel that this is the first story i’m genuinely invested in enough to write through to the resolution as opposed to writing a few pages and giving up.
sorry if this doesn’t make a lot of sense, i’m rambling, and thanks so much for the ask!
