The 5th of August will be the second day of City Elf Appreciation Week!
The optional theme is..
✨️Magic✨️
Not all City Elf mages lived in the Circle of Magi. Aneirin, a City Elf from Denerim and Wynne's former apprentice, escaped and can be found living alone as an apostate in the Brecilian Forest.
What of those that did live in the Circle? Were they born there? Did they voluntarily go? Or were they forcibly taken?
How does your chosen City Elf character feel about magic? Do they have an Andrastian view, or more of a Dalish one? Or something else?
The Grey Wardens typically are allowed to recruit one mage from each Circle of Magi. Fiona is a City Elf and Warden, though she mysteriously is cured of the darkspawn taint and returns to the Circle to fight for mage independence.
The Circle Towers differ greatly. Kinloch Hold in Ferelden is rather secluded in the middle of Lake Calenhad, whereas The White Spire of Orlais can be seen throughout Val Royeaux, no matter what.
Just some thoughts and prompts within a prompt <3
Alasdair's memory of Halloween night had mostly been hazy, only remembering a few things that happened over the course of the evening, which was likely due to the alcohol and drugs he'd consumed.. but he'd remembered his experience with Aneirin. The vampire had claimed to care, but Dair didn't believe it for a second. Vampires just used and broke their toys with little consideration for anyone else.
The nephilim had been sat minding his own business in the undercroft when a couple of the guards came for him and told him where he was going. Dair thought about fighting, but in the back of his mind he knew it would be useless, so he saved all his energy for Aneirin. That bastard deserved his anger after what he'd done to him.
Once they'd reached the councilman's suite and he was guided inside, Alasdair just stood and glared at Aneirin, the fury obvious in his eyes. "You just can't leave me the fuck alone can you?"

“Go ahead and use me, Dorian. Or are you all talk?” --- Aneirin watching an unfamiliar Vints antics from across the bar. Been wanting to draw pieces of Aneirin as he warms up to Dorian (couldn't stand him at first).
head canon: the exchange between Wynne and Aneirin in the Brecilian forest was a dream sequence my Warden Surana experienced trying to reconcile her Circle Mage and Dalish Elf identities.
I struggle with Wynne getting a forgiveness/redemption arc while still perpetuating the Circle infrastructure as a whole and trying to get my Surana on board to run the show after Irving died. I don't think my Warden would be in favor, and she rejects Wynne's every attempt to convince her to run the Circle as if being a good leader in an unjust system would make things okay; she saw how Irving struggled to operate in line with his own morals and how even he was confined by the oppressive system of the Circle.
Causing a little chaos in the undercroft wasn't something Hunter did all that often, but it was something he was starting to really enjoy. He didn't have a slave of his own just yet, so he was mostly wanting to see which slaves really grabbed his attention. The shy ones just didn't do it for him, he liked mouthy ones he could break in, which was why he liked to provoke them a little, see which one would snap at him.
Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed someone watching him -- one of the council members to be precise, but that didn't mean Hunter was going to keep quiet and not say anything to him. Distracted momentarily from the slave he had his eye on, Hunter turned his attention fully to the Welsh councilman. "What, you wanna take a picture? Might last longer."

Taliesin’s younger half brother Rhys! He's inspired by Jim 👀
I reread Joseph Clancy's translation of Y Gododdin today, and I'm sorry, but I find this particular elegy kind of hilarious (and endearing):
Betorqued, to the fore wherever he'd charge, Shy of breath before a maid, he'd earn his mead. Rent the front of his shield, when he heard the war-cry, He'd spare none he pursued.
"Aw yeah, what a guy! Ferocious warrior, always at the front of the charge, merciless to his enemies, mowed down all before him like reeds before the scythe.
"(Absolutely no game tho.)"
This poor guy's shade is listening in like, "Aneirin. Aneirin please. Why did you have to put that in your immortal lament?" ;_____;
