help me pick what story to work on
i have three wip ideas rn. they are completely unplanned i can tell you only a very brief synopsis of each story and i'm just trying to figure out what i should start working on rn (aka give me validation so i feel motivated to Do something)
1: fun low-fantasy road trip story of a culinary student at [insert magical academy] trying to create an ethically sourced cookbook of different provinces in her kingdom. she convinces a couple of her friends and her brother to come with her on this summer trip and make a vacation out of it. lots of time to focus on found family dynamics and the relationships between the characters, esp with her and her brother and how their relationship is affected by their mother. along the way they meet a hitchhiker and agree to help her - turns out she's a political refugee and they are unwittingly instigating the fall of the kingdom as they know it (not really a whole lot of focus on the actual destruction of the kingdom or whatever, i'm much more interested in the political discussions and how it impacts our characters as opposed to the nation as a whole) 2: Stories about different women in a lineage (loosely based on my family) and about how my mother’s tragedy is that she did not allow herself to be any of them. The idea of learning from your elders and their mistakes was passed down so seriously to my mother that while her siblings went and lived the lives they wanted, she sat quietly and passively allowed life to live her. She claims now that she has everything she’s ever wanted, but her life still feels passive. Enter the daughter; I tried to emulate my mother but turned out more like her rebellious sister, and she and I both try to come to terms with the fact that our lives are forever intertwined and shaped by each other. It’s okay that neither of us are who we thought we would be. 3: a woman is shipwrecked due to a malfunctioning lighthouse and is saved by a young girl who claims to live there. they strike up a friendship (the girl is much too young to have operated the lighthouse, so the woman can't really blame her for the shipwreck). more found family, definitely a more quiet and reflective story, but i intend to throw some magical elements into it - one day the girl disappears and the woman is still stuck on the island, unsure of what to do or if the girl was ever there at all
anyways help me out rb this with whichever story sounds most interesting to you guys/what you guys want to see more of
this is my personal account, just gonna boost it here too!
