[Masterpost] Uta no Prince-sama Dramatic Masterpiece Show Translations
Hello, hello~!! I am back with more UtaPri translations thanks to @melynir~! This time, I present to you the Dramatic Masterpiece Show trilogy!
They're adaptations of classic books we all know and love, but of course, they have their own UtaPri twist added~
The main theme songs and, I guess one could say, insert theme songs were all so good and fun to listen to. If I had to pick a favorite, it'd be Faust's songs!
The dramas are mostly faithful to the source material, with Dreaming of Oz being the closest (in my opinion), but there are still lots of twists and turns that will definitely keep you seated! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!
For those who wish to listen along, the CDs can still be purchased here: Dreaming of Oz | Never Again Neverland | Faust: Last Cantata
Without further ado, here they are! (((o(*°▽°*)o)))

[Glinda, the Good Wizard of the South - Quadling Country, outside, daytime]
The five arrive in Quadling Country.
They meet Glinda, the Good Witch of the South.*
Glinda: Welcome, travelers. I am Glinda. And tell me, boys, what can I do for you?
Terry: We want to cross the desert and go back to Kansas... back home! Everyone must be waiting for us!
Glinda: Very well. I shall tell you how to return to Kansas. The answer is…
Terry: The answer is…?
Glinda: Quite simple. If you use the Silver Shoes you’re wearing, you’ll be able to cross the desert.
The four exclaim in surprise.
Scarecrow: Huh!?
Tin Woodman: Huh!?
Lion: Huh!?
Terry: Huh!?
Terry peers down at the shoes Theo is wearing.
Terry: Theo’s shoes!?
Theo: These Silver Shoes have that kind of power…?
Glinda: All you have to do is knock the heels together three times and command the shoes to carry you wherever you wish to go. From the moment you arrived in this world, you already possessed the means to return home.
Terry: No way... So that’s how it was...
Theo turns to look back at the other three.
Theo: But if it weren’t for this adventure, I never would have met all of you.
Tin Woodman: Truly... I never imagined such a wonderful future could await me.
Scarecrow: I’d probably still be standing in that cornfield, living a miserable life.
Tin Woodman: And I would have remained rusted, plagued by loneliness, living in despair.
Lion: And I never would’ve become a true King of Beasts. We were saved by you two.
Glinda points to the Golden Cap that Terry is holding.
Glinda: Before you make your wish, may I have the Golden Cap? With its power, I shall send your companions back to their respective homes.
Terry: Of course! We need to use its power exactly three more times anyway.
Terry hands the Golden Cap to Glinda.
Lion: I am happy you get to go home, but... I’m going to miss you...
Tin Woodman: …I-I never thought saying goodbye could hurt this much… not since I lost my heart…
Terry wipes away the Tin Woodman’s tears.
Terry: Hey, don’t cry…! I won’t be able to wipe your tears for you anymore.
The Scarecrow covers his face with his hands, pretending to cry.
Scarecrow: Oh, even my painted eyes are welling up...!
Lion: Heh, you really are something else...
Tin Woodman: (choked-up laugh) You’re such a joker.
Terry: Exactly! We should say our goodbyes with a smile...
They embrace one another, clap each other on the shoulders, and reluctantly say their farewells.
Scarecrow: Take care!
Terry: You too!
Lion: Bye for now!
Tin Woodman: Please don’t forget us.
Terry: Of course we won’t!
The Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, and Lion gather before Glinda.
Glinda: Now then, shall we…? Oh Cap! Return each of them to the place where they belong!
The Golden Cap glows, and light envelops the three of them.
Scarecrow: Cheers to the best companions ever!
The Scarecrow teleports away.
Tin Woodman: May happiness follow you both on your journey!
The Tin Woodman teleports away.
Lion: Thanks for everything! Take care of yourselves!
The Lion Teleports away.
Terry: Thank you guys so much!!
Theo: Our adventure together will always be my greatest treasure!
[Crossroads of Life - Quadling Country, outside, daytime]
Terry takes Theo’s hand and squeezes it tightly.
Terry: Well then... now it’s just the two of us. Finally, finally, we can go back to Kansas, Theo!!
Terry chuckles at his own change of heart.
Terry: … And to think I used to hate Kansas so much. Before I knew it, it became a precious, irreplaceable home to me.
He speaks passionately about his homeland.
Terry: People really do change, don’t they… I don’t want to go anywhere else anymore. Not the city, not even a magical land. Kansas is where I belong.
Terry tugs gently on Theo’s hand.
Terry: Come on, let’s go home together!
Theo stops in place and lets go of Terry’s hand.
Theo: I’m staying here.
Terry: Why!? How come!? You wanted to go back to Kansas so badly!
Theo: … I’m sorry for keeping it from you, Terry. At first, I really did feel that way. But I’ve found a new place where I belong, right here in the Land of Oz.
Theo spreads his arms wide, expressing his deep emotion.
Theo: To be honest, I found myself captivated by this world halfway through our journey. It made me realize that even someone like me can be needed, and can actually be of help to someone. Besides, I can even become a wizard here! Isn’t it like a dream?
Terry: What about your uncle and aunt!? They must be worried sick, waiting for you to come home!
Theo: Yeah, you’re right. They’re wonderful people. No matter how hard things get, they’d always take care of me. But that’s exactly why I don’t want to become a burden to them.
***
Dream (Flashback)
A continuation of the dream in the poppy field.
Theo’s recollection of overhearing his uncle and aunt’s conversation.
Aunt: What are you saying, honey?!! What if Theo hears?!
Uncle: It’s because I worry about him more than anyone that I feel this way! We can’t afford to give Theo a single luxury. Is this life truly making him happy?!
Aunt: … When he first came to this house, I thought he was the sweetest thing. He used to smile like a little angel. But maybe we’ve taken that smile away from him.
Uncle: He’s a pure, kind-hearted boy. Even if there’s something he really wants to do, with things the way they are, he’d probably hold back and never say a word.
Aunt: You’re right… Maybe wanting him to stay with us is just our selfishness.
Uncle: That boy has his own future ahead of him…
Aunt: Yes. I want him to be happier than anyone else. After all, he is our child, whom we love more than anything in the world.
***
Theo: We weren’t well-off to begin with, and after the tornado, the house is probably in ruins. If I returned now, I think we wouldn’t even be able to make ends meet. That’s why I want to live here, relying on my own strength. I’m sure the two of them would support my choice.
Terry: (crying) Theo…
Theo takes off the Silver Shoes and holds them in his hands.
Theo: Besides, there’s only one pair of Silver Shoes. Only one of us was ever destined to return home.
Terry feels responsible for forcing that decision.
Terry: I-Is it... because I said... I wanted to go... home...? That’s why you’re... staying... here...?
Theo wipes away Terry’s tears.
Theo: Oh, don’t cry so much, Terry. “Say goodbye with a smile,” remember?
Terry: … But…
Theo gently strokes Nagi’s head.
Theo: I knew you’d blame yourself because you’re kind. That’s why I couldn’t bring myself to tell you sooner. I didn’t want to see you sad, either. But this is something I thought through and decided for myself. To walk this new path. Not for anyone else, but for me.
Terry accepts Theo’s firm resolve.
Terry: … I never imagined the day would come when we’d be separated. You really never know what life has in store.
Theo: But please believe this one thing: I love you, Terry.
Terry: I love you too, my best friend. You were the only one who truly understood me.
⬤ Insert song “Our Separate Paths” Theo & Terry
Translator's notes:
Up to this point, Glinda has only been referred to as a wizard. This is the only time the word “witch” is used in the script, which leads me to believe it might have been a mistake.
Next time Heavens gets a Dramatic Masterpiece Show CD Drama it better be Phantom of the Opera themed. Like, it's tailor made, only group that could pull Phantom is Heavens.
Imagine being so mid that the good witch has to ask you whether you're good or bad....

I really wanted to draw this one, but I am very depressed to draw so until I get better a little I will be making silly cheap edits like this! Thank you!

[Human limitations - Faust’s house, nighttime]
He is sitting in a chair in his dark, dusty room.
Faust bites his nails while clicking his tongue. A habit of his.
Faust: … How cruel life is.
He is overcome with despair.
Faust: It is far too short a time for a person to live…
Faust holds his head between his hands.
Faust: I’ve spent my life's precious time studying. I have gone to great deals to master every possible field from philosophy to jurisprudence, medicine, and theology. I spared no effort, doing anything in my power to achieve this.
He slams on the desk.
Faust: And yet! I couldn’t discover the truth of the world. None of it…
He violently sweeps the books off the desk.
The books fall off the desk with a clatter.
Faust: Professor, Doctor, scholar…? Being called by such titles means nothing. Even if you achieve a certain level of success, it becomes a responsibility and puts pressure on you. I was pushed even further into learning, and I was unable to escape from that cycle…
Looking at his trembling hands.
Faust: Learning left me nothing… As an old and decrepit man, there is nothing left for me to do. My wrinkled hands tremble weakly, and my eyes, which have lost their sparkle, reflect a hazy world.
A longing for death that comes from loneliness.
Faust: How much time do I have left…? Until I cease to exist… There is no escaping death. It comes equally to every human being.
He hugs himself and endures his loneliness.
Faust: Am I going to meet my end in solitude…? With no one to mourn my death, and no one to watch me draw my last breath.
Faust is beset with remorse.
Faust: If I had spent more time on other things, would my life have been different…?
He stares into nothing and mutters as if imagining it.
Faust: Having a warm home and a happy life with a loving partner and our children?
He smiles self-deprecatingly.
Faust: … That would be hoping for too much. I wanted at least someone who I could call a close friend with whom I could share my heart with.
He speaks while thinking back to times gone by.
Faust: Ha… I can’t find an answer to the question of what I should have done. If I had been able to do that, I probably wouldn’t be having regrets now. I keep thinking ridiculous thoughts. It’s pointless, all of it. Just near-death dreams…
His hand finds the vial of poison in the medicine cabinet.
Faust: Let’s end this already… Taking away the pain and going to sleep. Permanently…
[The suffering of successful people - Downtown, daytime]

Faust’s recollection
A conversation between Faust and his disciple, Wagner. On the way back from buying chemicals to make poison.
Faust: …
Wagner waves his hand in the air.
Wagner: Doctor! Doctor Faust!
Wagner runs up to Faust, who then turns to face him.
Faust: … It’s you, Wagner.
Speaking with great enthusiasm.
Wagner: Good day! You’re certainly carrying a great load… Those are all chemicals…? … Oh, I see. Are you planning to do some new experiments in pharmaceutical science?
Faust: … Yes, something like that.
Wagner holds out his hands to take the package.
Wagner: Shall I carry it for you…?
Faust smacks Wagner’s hand away.
Faust: Don’t treat me like a senior citizen!
Wagner: P-Pardon me… I apologize for overstepping. However, all of these materials seem to be very expensive. I wouldn’t ever be able to afford them. I’m really envious.
He scratches his head in embarrassment.
Wagner: Well, I still have much to learn, so even if I were able to get them, I would probably be unworthy of them…
Faust: Envious…? Material things are of no value at all.
Looking into Faust’s face.
Wagner: Is that so? With great materials and your knowledge, you are sure to discover something new, Doctor! There absolutely is value to them!
Faust quietly shakes his head.
Faust: … You still don’t get it. The knowledge gained in life is only a small part of it. Rather than mastering it, the more you know, the more desperately you want to learn more.
Wagner: What can you, someone beloved by God, say? You have exceptional talent and have achieved many successes. From my perspective, you seem to have everything you could ever want…
Faust: What really matters in life is not talent, wealth, or fame. All of those things will be of no use at the time of the Last Judgment.
Wagner: Even someone as great as you feels that way… I'm still inexperienced and haven't reached that level yet. I must work even harder!
He clasps his hand tightly, enthusiastic.
Wagner: I will do my very best to follow in your footsteps and continue your work!
Faust seems to have resigned himself.
Faust: Yes… You still have a lot of time left. That’s right, the world is full of possibilities and hope… Go ahead and pursue your dreams as you like.
Wagner: Yes, sir! But I am sure that I, an ordinary person, would not be able to accomplish that alone. However, I have a trusted confidant!
He gazes dreamily into the distance.
Wagner: I have an intimate, close friend who is pursuing the same dream as me. He saves me from despair and getting discouraged…
Faust bites his nails while clicking his tongue. A habit of his.
He’s quite annoyed.
Faust: … Close friend…?
Wagner reports happily, as if talking about his own achievements.
Wagner: Yes! He’s a genius! Not only is he clever, but he's also pure, beautiful, and flawless. He's a talented friend I'm very proud of!
Faust bites his nails while clicking his tongue. A habit of his.
Faust: How cruel life can be.
Envy towards Wagner. A desire for youth and popularity.
Faust: … You're completely different from me. There isn’t anyone who will listen to what this old man has to say, let alone be my close friend. That's just how popular I am. I don't even have anyone who will be by my side.
He gently pats Wagner on the shoulder.
Faust: It's a lonely life. Knowledge has not filled the loneliness. Wagner, don't go astray. Don't lose sight of what is truly important. This is advice from an old man.
He gazes at his clenched fist with regret.
Faust: No amount of wealth or fame can buy you eternal life. And you can't turn back time...
Faust smiles with a look of resignation.
Faust: Do you know what the ultimate dream of the masters is? Immortality… I was never able to fulfill that dream.
Wagner approaches Faust agitatedly.
Wagner: Immortality…? Eternal life…!? What are you talking about!? That means stepping into the realm of the divine!
As if reminding him to be careful not to let anyone hear him.
Wagner: You will incur God’s wrath! How blasphemous… Such dangerous thoughts… are not allowed.
Faust: You'll understand when you're older. Right now, you're young, so you have the luxury of time.
Wagner is shaken. He can’t deny it completely.
Wagner: Is… that so…?
As he expresses his genuine gratitude, he comes up with the idea of leaving him a keepsake.
Faust: Wagner. Thank you for listening to this old man’s rambling. Oh, that’s right… About the documents you wanted, feel free to take as many as you want.
Wagner: Eh! Really? Thank you very much!
Faust: … I don’t need them anymore. Come get them sometime... See you.

[The battle with the Wicked Witch of the West - The Witch of the West’s castle]
The sound of a silver whistle resonates.
The Wicked Witch of the West has sharp eyesight and can see the group approaching.
Using the silver whistle, she commands various beings.
Witch of the West: Hmm... So there are some fellows heading this way...? Two children, a scarecrow, a tin man, a lion... What an odd bunch.
She trembles in irritation.
Witch of the West: I don’t know what their goal is, but they were probably instigated by Oz. I won’t forgive anyone who dares to harm me, the great Witch of the West!
The sound of the silver whistle.
Witch of the West: Now, wolves! Tear them apart and finish them off!
The wolves rush forward, aiming for the Tin Woodman.
Tin Woodman: Wolves, huh! This is my fight! Even if they bite me, I won’t feel a thing. Their teeth will probably end up getting damaged instead!
The Tin Woodman cuts down the wolves that jump at him with his axe.
Tin Woodman: Your efforts are futile! Even the teeth of a wolf cannot compete with the blade of this axe. Haa! Huff! Yah!
Oz, watching the five through his crystal ball, speaks like a kyogen-mawashi*.
Oz (N): With his axe, the Tin Woodman chopped off the wolves' heads one by one.
Witch of the West: Ugh... Then let's have the crows peck out their eyes! Go!
The sound of the silver whistle. The crows attack.
Scarecrow: Crows? Well, that’s my area of expertise! Go ahead, peck at my eyes as much as you like!
Oz (N): The Scarecrow defeated the crows by twisting their necks.
Witch of the West: What the...?! Damn it...! In that case, next up are the bees! Writhe in agony from their venomous stings!
The sound of the silver whistle. The bees attack.
Scarecrow: This time, it’s bees...! Let’s work together, Tin Woodman! Theo, Terry, and Lion, use the straw from my body to hide yourselves! After that, well, you already know what to do, partner!
Tin Woodman: Yes, the only target left will be me, made of tin. The bees’ stingers are no match for tin, and they’ll all break...!
The Tin Woodman and the Scarecrow high-five.
Scarecrow: That’s right!
The bees fall helplessly, plopping down. The Witch of the West cannot hide her irritation.
Witch of the West: Oh, all of you are useless! Flying monkeys, this time, make sure to end their lives! If you don't, your friends will die!
The sound of the silver whistle.
The winged monkey attack.
Oz (N): A wise person can probably roughly imagine what happened next.
The Lion asserts his strength.
Lion: Finally, it’s my turn! I am the king of beasts, the Lion! I won’t lose to some monkeys!
He threatens with an even louder voice and a terrifying expression.
Lion: Roar!! If you don’t want to be eaten, get out of here!
The winged monkeys leave, screeching.
Oz (N): The monkeys, who were originally under the control of the Witch of the West, abandoned the unwelcome battle and left.
She stomps her feet in frustration.
The group has arrived at the foot of the Witch of the West’s castle.
Witch of the West: Eek! They’re getting closer and closer! I have to do something… my life is in danger!
Oz (N): Feeling threatened, the Witch of the West decided to use the Golden Cap. This was a magical tool that could summon the winged monkeys and grant the owner’s wishes three times.
The Witch of the West takes out the Golden Cap and places it on her head.
Witch of the West: Now that it’s come to this, there’s no other choice...
She stands upon her left foot, then upon the right, and finally, she stands upon both feet.
Witch of the West: Ep-pe, pep-pe, kak-ke! Hil-lo, hol-lo, hel-lo! Ziz-zy, zuz-zy, zik!
He commands with a big wave of his hand.
Witch of the West: Drop the Tin Woodman from a high place onto sharp rocks so that he’s all battered and dented!
The Tin Woodman is lifted high into the sky by some of the winged monkeys under the magic of the Wicked Witch of the West, and then dropped.
Tin Woodman: (screams as he’s carried through the air and grunts once he hits the ground)
Witch of the West: Serves you right! Next, it’s the Scarecrow’s turn! Pull out every last piece of his straw and throw his clothes on top of a tall tree!
Other winged monkeys under the magic of the Wicked Witch attack the Scarecrow and pull out his straw.
Scarecrow: Ah... stop… please... I’m losing... all my strength...
Witch of the West: Capture the Lion with a rope and bring him here! I’ll work him to the bone.
The winged monkeys wrap the Lion tightly with a rope.*
Lion: Ugh, it hurts...! I... can’t... move...
Witch of the West: Lastly… Take care of those insolent humans…!
Terry despairs as he witnesses real magic.
Terry: What a horrible thing... Everyone has been defeated…! We’re done for, too!!
Witch of the West: Tear them to pieces!!
Terry is about to be attacked by a winged monkey under the magic of the Wicked Witch.
Theo steps forward to protect Terry.
The silver shoes emit a strong light.
Theo: I won’t let you do that! I absolutely won’t allow anyone to hurt Terry!!
Terry is surprised by the light.
Terry: Theo!! You-!!
Witch of the West: Those are… the silver shoes...! And good magical power is surrounding the children? Where have you been hiding such power? Ugh… I can’t interfere like this.
Theo is unaware of his magical powers, so he can’t control them.
Terry: What’s the matter? Weren’t you going to tear us to pieces?
Witch of the West: … He’s not attacking? Could it be that he is still unaware of his own power? And those pure eyes. If I play it right, this might be something I can take advantage of.
The Witch of the West snaps her fingers and the gate opens.
Witch of the West: Go ahead and enter the castle!
Terry: Hey, are you going in? It might be some kind of trap.
Theo: Even if that’s the case, we won’t get any further if we just stand here, so I’ll go. There must be a reason why she won’t lay hands on us.
Theo and Terry proceed into the castle and reach the Witch of the West.
Witch of the West: So you’ve come, humans... Hand me those silver shoes. If you do, I’ll let you go.
Theo realizes from the Witch's words that the silver shoes are special.
Theo: ... If you want them that much, why don’t you just take them by force? The fact that you can’t do that means there must be something else, right?
Theo takes a step closer to the Witch. The light from the silver shoes grows stronger.
Witch of the West: Hey, stay back…! If you do as I say, I won’t do anything bad to you. That’s right, how about we team up?
Theo: You join forces with me, a mere human?
Imitating what he sees, he reaches out his hand and poses as if gathering his strength.
Witch of the West: N-No... Stop it... Wicked magic can’t win against the power of good magic.
Theo: Magic…?
While Theo is distracted, the Western Witch circles around to grab Terry.
Terry: … What!? Ugh...
Theo: Terry!!
Witch of the West: Separating you two was always my goal. So, do you not care what happens to your companion...?
Theo’s anger reaches its peak and his hidden power awakens.
Theo: … Let go of Terry!!
The magic creates a huge amount of water that splashes over the two of them.
Terry: Uwaaa!!
Witch of the West: Aah!!
The Witch writhes in agony.
Theo rushes over to Terry.
Witch of the West: My body... my body... is melting... Did you know that... water is my weakness?
Theo: O-Of course not! What is this, anyway!? Is this... magic…!?
Witch of the West: … The strength born of purity… The true power that resides in your heart… It’s over… for me.
The Witch of the West melts away to nothing.
The Golden Cap drops to the floor, making a clattering sound as it comes to a stop.
Terry: Did we... do it? Did we win?
Theo: … I think so. More importantly, are you alright, Terry…? Are you hurt?
Terry pumps his fist in the air.
Terry: Aside from being completely soaked, I’m feeling fine! It seems like it was really just water.
Theo: … I’m so glad~
Terry: … Oh, that’s right! We can’t just stand around, we have to help our companions!
Theo: Yeah!
Translator's notes:
*1 Kyogen-mawashi- storyteller/narrator
*2 Unlike the other lines, they didn’t mention the monkeys here, only the Witch’s magic. I assume this is a mistake in the script, keeping in mind the context and the original book.
