Why can't we cry over our fictional characters?
Like honestly, we have seen thousands and millions of people crying over the death of an artist or an actor or some famous person.
You didn't know that person. You probably never interacted with this person. Then why do you shed your tears?
It is because these people have impacted your life some way or the other. You have probably watched them grow or you have grown up watching them.
It is the same with us. We have seen these characters grow or we have grown up with them. At times it is both.
These characters probably impact us even more because we know what goes inside their head. We have watched them bleed and claw their way out of hell. We have seen them carry their broken minds and bodies and stand on the victor's podium. We have even seen some of them die a step before they achieve their goals.
Some go on to have their happily ever afters. Some stand on the top but lose everything on their journey there.
We have not interacted with them like you have but they have been real to us just like your idol was real to you.
We both have been as close as possible to our respective idols.
The only difference is that yours exist in the same world as you.
So let's not be mean to each other. Let me share the joys and sorrows of my idol like you do to yours.
Let me mourn my idol how you have or will mourn yours.
Let's be kind to each other and not diss or look down on others for being happy or sad for someone that we will never be close to.
Let us revel in the emotions we have at this moment and live.
