Non-Story Post

Hi. This is Draque, the real-world person who maintains this story blog. I don’t normally post much of anything here that doesn’t have to do with the world of Darisa. Today is an exception, so I’ll keep it brief.

I'm queer. That's a big motivation for me in writing what I do here. The current administration of the US government and the party which supports it is making it clear that in no uncertain terms that it wishes for me not to exist. There are many, many issues right now that are important to many people, but that is the issue which has more relevance to me than any other. My right to exist.

The democrats don't have all the answers. There are plenty of things wrong with them. But they want to allow me to exist. And right now, that is how low my bar is for leadership. That is how bad things are getting.

Please vote. Please go out tomorrow. Do not let apathy or frustration with the system stop you. Please vote for someone who will support my right to live.

I'll return this blog to its typical story/worldbuilding content on Wednesday. Thank you all for sticking around and reading what I put here.
